    I worked at QuintilesIMS full-time

    Pros

They will hire anyone. They are the Walmart of the CRO industry. If you are a stay at home mom you can get hired on to manage people with no education or experience in management.

    Cons

Terrible line managers, toxic culture, no work-life balance, dysfunctional over utilization of foreign workers, constantly “innovating” in attempt to fix things that aren’t broken.

    Advice to Management

My line manager is a paranoid schizophrenic.

    Pros

Seems to have a lot of business departments, and it is super political among them. Do not waste time here, since there are so many good companies out there

    Cons

No capable management. Some principals just know nothing while using subordinates as sweatshops. These higher-ups are always using power play and have workplace bullying, especially towards minorities!

    Advice to Management

Fire some useless (Sr) principals, and have 360 performance reviews. Respect people, especially minority groups!

I worked at QuintilesIMS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Only positive is that I managed to escape with my sanity

    Cons

    -zero work life balance
-zero basic human respect and dignity
    -zero training
    -zero support for struggling employees
-most unprofessional group I've ever worked with
    -senior principal made racist comments
-senior principal made analysts cry on a daily basis
-senior principal yelled and cursed at employees in open area at client site in front of client
-senior principal behaves very inappropriately with senior consultant roughly 20 years his junior

    Advice to Management

During interviews, mention the expectation that you will own the employee and all of their time - don't say flexible hours, etc in the interview and then tell them they need to work 12 hour days and weekends indefinitely because you committed to an unrealistic deadline. Invest in your employees. Train them (especially when they tell you in the interview that they lack specific experience or knowledge and you promise to provide guidance). Trash your "consulting 101" deck completely before it gets you sued - make a new one that doesn't use phrases like "suck it up", "baby got back", "don't wear items you pulled out of the garbage", and "don't cover body odor with cologne". Don't blame your failures, overcommitments, lack up planning, and complete lack of leadership on your employees.

    Pros

Salaries are decent, pension, paid time off.

    Cons

Company culture is bad, and HR Management is awful.

    Advice to Management

Send management to mandatory training to learn how to manage people effectively, and how to motivate employees and recognize them when warranted.

I worked at QuintilesIMS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    They are usually hiring CRAs.

    Cons

Expect 125+% hours for full time pay. Everyone was so overloaded there was never time to follow-up or investigate issues.
Live and die by metrics, no consideration for quality of work or personnel. Results in very poor quality.
Revolving door for CRAs means that I was at sites where medical histories hadn't been reviewed for patients who were on studies 6 months to a year. Also CRAs who weren't doing their jobs are able to stay under the radar so long as they meet their metrics. There was no accountability.
    Poorly trained sites.

    Advice to Management

Keep your resume up to date.

    Pros

Large Organization, a lot of project work. Offices across the U.S. and world.

    Cons

Limited career opportunities. Not collaborative. Poor management in some divisions - at several levels. A lot of acquisitions in recent years, but struggling with integration of divisions and cultures. Only people at the top make $.

    Pros

People are treated in very unprofessional manner.
The male director and his female puppets have to go.
Don't put your mental health in danger.

    Advice to Management

I have watch your ways many years. You are dragging the company down. You don't deserve to work there and destroy people's life

I worked at QuintilesIMS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits
    Nice facilities
    Competitive pay
    Global
    Flexible remote opportunities

    Cons

    Treat people like numbers
    Don't empower employees
    Micromanage
    Very political environment
Excellent and highly regarded scientific experts are leaving in waves
    No work life balance
Play favorites with promotions and growth

    Advice to Management

This is for the "new IMS led executives " - (not the Quintiles execs that remain) Treat everyone equally
Quit ruining what was a great Quintiles culture where people valued their commitment to helping patients, regardless of their role
Promote and appoint to leadership roles based on merit, not your preference
