I have been working at QuintilesIMS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Somewhere they are committed to you development and in contrast to some other CROs you can spend your career here as internal development is taken seriously. They have done a lot of work to ensure they have market competitive salaries too. People are generally very nice and the offices are great.

    Cons

Can sometimes be long hours but not all the time - really depends on the project and how you manage it.

    Advice to Management

Don't give up the commitment to early talent, people development and career mapping.

    Advice to Management

A Fresh eyes needed and developer should be treated like any other quintilesIMS employee. same benefits for all after acquiring the company.

I have been working at QuintilesIMS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Open and considerate Senior Management. Great Benefits. Nice location. Provide good working environment except at Legacy CRM where incompetent Director makes his own rules

    Cons

Negative career growth. Stagnant wages. Once you’re here for five years your career is doomed. It is Jurassic park with a crocodile, dinosaurs, and spineless. Developer requires to code with bleeding edge proprietary framework/CDL with no training and documentation. Incompetent product manager lack vision and direction. Kiss-up & Kick-down style management. Highly Command and control directorship. promote and hires only spineless H1B. Unprofessional and unethical behavior, lack trust and transparency, no flexible work hours and no remote work options make work-life balance difficult. Nano-managed by multiple layers of incompetent. Facade of Agile/Unit Testing/Quality Assurance and other processes in place to deceive upper management. Very poor project planning and execution. The bulk of the effort goes in fixing JIRA, review based upon JIRA count fixed. Management feels very insecure, compete with team members, takes credit for others work and blame others for their own failure.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of toxic before it spreads to the entire body. More time on the job is a very harmful. Employees are looking for change that will bring trust, transparency, flexibility and meaning to their work. Employees are looking for a sense of fulfillment- having an impact, being part of something that's bigger than they are. They want to learn, grow and develop and have the flexible set of experiences. They like to work in the hours that they want to work. Sometimes they start late. They stay late. They are just there to get work done. Want to be result-focused and result oriented. Flexibility is really important part of the benefit they are looking for. They want to connect with people who benefited from their work. That will not only improve productivity but also make them happier. Everyone wants their work to have purpose.
