I have been working at Quorum Business Solutions, Inc. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Great place to start a career in energy and technology
    - Learn client's business through building and maintaining the software that runs it
    - Opportunities to move ahead quickly and take on new responsibility as you earn it
    - Most roles interact directly with customers and allow you to build people and technology skills quickly.
    - New products and next generation products are moving to the web and mobil platform. Exciting product direction

    Cons

    - Not a great place to be if you do not have a motor
    - Will require everyone to become a programmer and have at least basic technology skills to succeed
    - Demanding situations and roles can be stressful

    Advice to Management

Focusing on culture and team building are critical as the company grows and gets younger. New user centered product direction and dedicated software teams are a good start in more clearly focusing on product quality to make everyone's work more satisfying.

I worked at Quorum Business Solutions, Inc. full-time

    Pros

Interesting work, problem solving, helping clients, easily accessed experts

    Cons

it can be easy to get more work than you can handle, travel schedules

    Advice to Management

There should be more camaraderie between those not on the same project team. Coming back to the office from a project is like walking into a new job with regards to the people around.

    Pros

    - The people here are awesome, except for upper management.
    - Good business practices.
    - Ice cream once a month.
    - Free coffee and water.
    - You learn a lot about software and coding.
    - Decent pay for a fresh grad.
    - Monopoly in the market so product is stable.

    Cons

    - You'll get a crash course in the corporate world, starting with how they don't care about what you want to do or what you're good at. In fact they try to make you do things you don't want to do for some weird reason.
    - Everyone does coding and SQL regardless of whether you want to do marketing or whatever. This means you get real technical real quick or get buried alive regardless of whether you have a technical background.
    - Upper management so detached from reality and needs of their verticals you'll never get any real help outside of putting out immediate fires.
    - Mass exodus of talent means nobody knows what they're doing and Q doesn't care about retaining those talents. Just throw more fresh graduates into the grinder and hope some of them learn how to swim.
    - 0 Career opportunities. Use this place to get some industry experience and get out ASAP.
    - Don't get sick or hurt. The health benefits are ridiculously bad ($6000/yr for your deductable???). Obamacare has better benefits for cheaper???
    - If you "only" do 45 hours a week you'll get a bad review. They expect you to live and die for the company and don't care about your work/life balance contrary to what they say during NHOT.
    - The company is a training camp, most people are gone after a year or two. Don't make the mistake of staying for longer because you get comfortable.

    Advice to Management

Why bother? They have their heads so high in the clouds they forget there are people working in their company. Might be hard but try listening once in a while without firing the whistleblower.

    Cons

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    - Smart and kind coworkers
    - Houston office has access to the tunnels
    - Opportunity to gain technical IT skills and to learn about the oil and gas industry
    - You can work from home if you need to

    Cons

    - The benefits are not competitive
    - You are expected to bill AT LEAST 9 hours to clients (This means that you will most likely work more than 9 hours a day)
    - No culture (unless you consider being miserable and stressed out all the time culture?)
    - Performance Reviews are one sided: Your manager(s) can review your performance but you don't get to review theirs (Guess who gets the blame when projects go down the drain?)
    - Tiny/nonexistent bonuses
    - No work-life balance
    - Boring projects
    - The Q thought it was cool to layoff a bunch of people without announcing layoffs were happening
    - Not enough training (If you teach a baby to walk and it can take a couple of steps before it falls flat on its butt, do you think that baby is ready to run a 5k? Probably not. Well, the training you get is equivalent to learning to barely walk, but the actual work that is assigned to you is more like running a 5k.)

    Advice to Management

    - Be real during recruiting about the LONG WORK HOURS and the fact that the job is EXTREMELY TECHNICAL so that people can filter themselves out before they spend 1-2 years being miserable at your company and quitting
    - Consider treating employees like human beings rather than machines

I worked at Quorum Business Solutions, Inc. (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Jobs at "the Q" are ONLY for dewy-eyed new college graduates, with NO other work experience.

    Other assets:
    1. Parents in executive or otherwise influential positions at customers (or potential customers)
    2. Collegiate fraternity or sorority association

    Cons

For anyone with actual work experience, the cons vastly outweigh any pros. As a matter of fact, there are nothing but cons for anyone with actual work experience, despite the obviously fake and likely coerced positive reviews you see posted on Glassdoor.

    Advice to Management

Take a good hard look at the man or woman in the mirror.
