    I worked at R/GA full-time

    Pros

Great offices, huge talent in creative/strategy, company seems to be heading in the right direction

    Fantastic CEO

    Cons

    Cliquey, two-faced culture
If seniors feel threatened by anyone with a voice, that person will likely be alienated
Some staff undeserving of their roles/titles

    Advice to Management

Make room for genuine new talent, ability and charisma by getting rid of stale employees who only have their job due to a long history at the company.

    Cons

Workflow process can be heavy sometimes but not much more than other agencies
Macbook air provided to the contractors can be frustrating if you need a bit more computer power

    Pros

The R/GA name carries well with industry peers although this seems to be from a bygone era.

    Cons

Tells the world it's for the connected age but lets its entire development department go and hires more "creative teams" that get in the way of insight and true innovation.
    A lack of original thinking.
Perpetuating the idea that you have to take crap for ~10 years before you get to speak in meetings.
Everything is a joke, nothing can be taken seriously. Not even £M in client budgets.
Office is stupidly cramped. Executive client meetings held in a kitchen the size of a small studio apartment while "cool" kids gather around the coffee machine and talk about last nights conquest, all because old white egomaniacs need meeting rooms booked in perpetuity for "jamming."
Pure production house. Imagine management consulting in a pair of skinny jeans.
    Stay away!

    Advice to Management

Remember that incumbents usually create their own downfall

I worked at R/GA (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good compensation, talented people everywhere, very nice and helpful HR, great work and interesting/ exciting projects coming out of their ears. Also free beers.

    Cons

Slight lack of oversight and cohesion, given basically everyone I worked with was freelance. Does a project need three creative directors? Does that not defeat the object of having a creative director?!

    Advice to Management

The merits of having a team comprised of freelancers are considerable, but the balance does seem to be a bit off. Maybe a few more perms to keep some sense of consistency.

I worked at R/GA as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really smart coworkers so you will learn a lot. The London office is in a nice location. They pay very well and will take you for an afternoon up the pub or out for food which is a nice touch.

    Cons

The work life balance is appalling, everyone is running around bragging how stressed or tired they are and talking about how late they stayed up last night. People will email you in the evening and expect you to reply right away. The office is open plan and it doesn't work well. The management are totally out of touch.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, they are very smart and are your eyes and ears on the ground!!

    Pros

Came in and worked within a great team on what potentially could have been a challenging project, however thanks to the team, R/GA process, and a common sense of empowerment, the project ran extremely smoothly. Also worked with another R/GA office in Europe, on the same project and again this felt seamless, jumping on video calls to talk through ideas, tasks, and issues, was more than encouraged with no layers of management blocking this. I wasn’t exposed to any company politics, which I was happy about, since my freelance contract was project focused. Lastly some non work stuff, there were showers (lots) and secure bike storage, a good social side with Friday drinks and healthy work/life balance.

    Cons

Currently can not think of any codes during my time at R/GA

    Advice to Management

    None
