    Pros

    Get to drive new units.

    Cons

Work in extreme heat and cold.

    Advice to Management

HR people are never around, 7 hours on drive off is too long. Rear of shuttle is an oven.

I have been working at R. J. Corman Railroad Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company has good benefits and vacation, if you like working outside its a job for you. you can work at your own pace.

    Cons

The job pay is not worth it for the job at hand. Very poor raises, they would rather spend there money on anything but the employees. Voluntary work isnt voluntary, they say they need volunteers but if no one does its a selection no matter where or what.

    Advice to Management

Better pay= Harder and more efficient workers. Less pay= poor workers and people that dont care. Take care of your employees instead of expecting them to do more work for cheap. Vollenteer= a choice not a mandatory decison. Help= not sending people to places making our situation worse than it already is. But all in all the place is running decent.

I worked at R. J. Corman Railroad Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

THE EXPERIENCE YOU GET AND THAT'S IT!!

    Cons

EVERYTHING. Started out 10.00 a hr last day of work was making 22 was employed almost 11 years.. I worked in the field which is a completely different experience verses in the shop or office.. supervision talks down to the men. Its you do this and this fast or we'll put you on a bus to the house and they would do everything possible to make sure you got the longest route home... You share a room unless your a boss... or admin.. They pick the cheapest motel possible.. most crews run 16 passenger vans and its 3 to a seat shoulder to shoulder. When I first started it was great.. when Rick died the cookie jar had alot of hands in it and the grass was full of snakes.. December of 2017 they fired 30+ men in one day sent office staff to the job sites with pink slips. Men with 1 yr up to 25+ years. Good men gone for nothing. The very next week partnered with KY labor cabinet to get interns in the door. Best advice work 5 years at corman learn every machine you can and apply for better paying railroad jobs.. Use corman as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the way Rick treated the men.. Stop letting the college educated run the show.. the men in the field are who pay the office folks salary..

    Cons

    Bad Management, On call 24-7,

    Advice to Management

Go back to your core values when employees options mattered. This used to be a great company to work for until upper management ran everybody off. One person isn't work jeopardizing the foundation built.

    I worked at R. J. Corman Railroad Group full-time

    Pros

Great company with a great safety mantra but they don't always do as they say. So you have to listen to your own conciseness. I will leave it at that.

    Cons

They don't live up to the safety promise.
