Reviews about "long hours"
Return to all Reviews- 5.0Mar 10, 2018Class A Truck DriverCurrent Employee, more than 1 yearNew Carlisle, IN
Pros
This company has a ton of freight and will work you consistently. There are a lot of locations so if you don't like to stay in one place you can relocate yearly. This carrier has a lot of newer equipment. Expect to work 8 hrs to 14 hrs. 5-6 days a week.
Cons
There are not enough trucks or drivers and tons of freight. If you get fatigued or sick plan on having to fight to get a day off without being written up. There is some older equipment that can leave you broke down and if you are paid by the load you do not get compensation until you have been stranded for over 2hrs. Carry some tools for a quick fix and limp it into the closest terminal so you can keep moving. Sometimes wait times for loads or empty trailers can take up to 2hrs. This is unreasonable and when you wait in to many places for to long it drives down pay per hour to below your hourly wage. If a driver is being paid per load they should be compensated for exaggerated wait times.
