I recently received an offer from iProspect (part of Dentsu) I’ve heard ups and downs about this company. I currently work for a great company and not sure if I should leave. The new opportunity pays a lot more than I currently make. Does anyone have any advice about this company and whether I should take the job or not?

    Pros

The people are laid back and polite

    Cons

They keep taking away from benefits, and no 401k matches now

Lots of opportunity for career growth - But some drawbacks

    Pros

Good Opportunities to learn new areas if you show interest. Promotes from within. Security of a large company with stable industry

    Cons

Health benefits are very expensive. Salary increases are only 1% annually across the board so good, bad and mediocre employees receive the same annual bump regardless of how great your performance review is. No 401k contribution by RRD.

    No Career here, Just hours.

    Pros

Decent pay, and you'll most likely get your 40 hours per week if that's what your after.

    Cons

Benefits aren't actually benefits here, no 401k match. No employee rewards, for good production numbers. They have their busy and very slow times of the year, on one hand you'll get forced to work overtime and on the other they'll send you home constantly and you wont get your 40 hours. When interested in climbing up the ladder in positions within the company, they'll listen to you but they won't actually give you the tools or the needed help for that pathway. No actual career pathway, they already have handpicked people that they favor. A solid example, family members of current or past leadership team members. All in all, this place is great for entry level people who want to dip their toes in the production world or for the current 50 year old people who can't leave because they can't get a job anywhere else and they have worked there for far too long and nothing to show for it.

    Pros

It is one of the higher paying jobs in the area. Great supervisors, team leads, and co-workers. Flexibility

    Cons

1% raises No 401k match Poor health insurance Not enough employees for the workload and even the higher ups that should be available as resources are so overloaded they're struggling themselves. Lacks organization - information is often on Google docs that have to be remembered rather than a central location such as the company's intranet New system onboarded but instead of improving efficiency, eliminating manual processes and having to go into multiple systems to complete an order it's become another additional step.

    Meh, sinking ship

    Pros

decent starting pay, a lot of products. Great people for the most part.

    Cons

Upper management/legal thinks customers should conform to RRD's needs. Revenue has been steadily falling for years. Sales training isn't good but it exists. I never worked from home for 1 day in 2020. They said they would recognize Juneteenth as a holiday and we didn't get Friday off. Benefits are trash, no 401k match and 10 days PTO on my 2nd year.

    Decent Company to start with

Mar 15, 2021 - Production Machine Operator in Smithsburg, MD

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Overtime always available. Good starting wages. Two weeks paid vacation and 3 personal days available after direct hire through company. Nice shift premium for weekends and night shift.

    Cons

12 hour shifts. Ridiculous mandatory overtime every quarter and at the start of the year. No cost of living raises. Bad health insurance with crazy deductibles. No 401k or retirement plan whatsoever. Management and direct supervisor cannot run equipment you're assigned to. No training procedures in place to help new hires.

    Poor culture, focus, and vision

Mar 24, 2021 - Account Manager in San Francisco, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Exposure to high profile clients, creating real world supply chain and print solutions that have an impact

    Cons

Low pay, long hours, culturally suffocating. Employees are expected to bend over backwards to satisfy customer demands and grow the business, but are not rewarded for their efforts internally. Encouraged to work through holidays and weekends, management embraces a closed door "what's in it for me" communication style. Bad benefit options, 2 week vacation, no 401k match. The company is doing it's best to survive in a dying industry and making poor financial decisions along the way.
