I have been working at R-T Specialty full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fast past. Great place for someone new to insurance.

    Cons

No room to move for someone with experience. Not a friendly atmosphere. Too much favoritism. You pretty much need to be related or is a close friend of upper management in order to move up (not sure if other offices are the same).

    I worked at R-T Specialty full-time

    Pros

Free coffee and occasional snacks and breakfasts/lunches.

    Cons

Employees are expected to work at least 50 hours per week. Time and effort is usually unappreciated. Constantly walking on eggshells to avoid public humiliation inflicted by superiors.

    Advice to Management

Show more kindness and appreciation towards those who work for you.

Time and Quality of work are not necessarily appreciated by the VPs (depends on the VP)
Can be a bit of a "boys club"
Not a lot of room for upward mobility

    Advice to Management

    Pros

    Casual attire

    Advice to Management

Broker's seem to make their own schedule, gives lower level employees a bit of resentment. A lot of family and friends seem to be hired and fast tracked.

I have been working at R-T Specialty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good Benefits, Great Pay, and Fridays are casual dress. Lots of little perks like free coke or letting us leave early on certain days etc.

    Cons

Biggest con is that the office is downtown. The commute is not fun and traffic and construction downtown seems constant. No tuition reimbursement and strict on start and stop times.

    Advice to Management

Try to have a more flexible work environment.
