I worked at R&R Partners full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Laid back environment - lots of drinks/parties, chill day-to-day atmosphere -Really enjoyed working with many prestigious clients -Future marketing clients look promising -Leaving early on Fridays in the summer -Time off during holidays -Gained a lot of great experience -Great, cozy atmosphere

    Cons

-Lack of proper training but criticized when you weren't trained -Untouchable leadership nepotism and praises -No room to grow unless you kiss butt -Low pay -Cliques of a high school nature -No work/life balance -Laid back environment gets in the way of real professional career goals and planning -Political connections here create power dynamics

    Advice to Management

Step up your professional game. Stop with the "family" talk. Hire positive leaders who value fairness. Provide a process for career growth for all employees and the ability to hold leadership accountable for propelling their employees.

I have been working at R&R Partners full-time

    Pros

Structured and well organized. They promote a collaborative environment where everyone's opinion has value. Great IT department and company resources. People can bring their dog to work and they allow you to work from home one day a week. They support a work/life balance. Great benefits and work perks. Coffee, food and other amenities are plentiful. Awesome work parties. They work hard and play hard.

    Cons

They could use more detail during the on-boarding process. Introduce new hires to how the agency works and how each department relates to the other.

    Advice to Management

Continue to stay up-to-date regarding technology and trends to set-up employees for success.

I have been working at R&R Partners full-time

    Pros

Strong emphasis on new innovation Growth and purpose driven company Liberal company that openly embraces female empowerment and LGTBQ People & Culture & CEO truly care about employee happiness Ability to work remotely part of the time which helps when there are longer weeks Work/life balance is fair to good. You can have a personal life, which is unusual for agency life.

    Cons

Some of the departments are cliquey Decision making sometimes takes too long

    Advice to Management

Focus on holding some of the people who don't pull their weight more accountable. Limit POD size to maximize efficiency.

    I worked at R&R Partners full-time

    Pros

    Probably some interesting political opportunities.

    Cons

After 15 years in the ad biz and experience at many other shops that were supposedly “sweat shops”, I started working at R&R. Other places I’d been at including CP+B were like a vacation compared to R&R. There was absolutely no work life balance there. You spend your entire day in meetings, unable to get anything done, and then you are working late into the night as a result. The lack of process makes it almost... impossible to get anything done. Truly the worst job I’ve ever had.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at how other agencies operate, because they’re doing it a lot better than you.

    Pros

Note that these comments apply to working in the LV office. I can't really speak to the environment in the other locations. The pros are: --Interesting work, clients and colleagues. --Good work/life balance for the most part, but being an ad agency there are times when you need to work nights/weekends for your clients. --Laid-back and flexible culture. Like a casual dress code, parties, the ability to work from... home when you need to, etc.

    Cons

One big drawback that keeps me from giving R&R 5 stars: unfortunately, the laid-back approach bleeds into career planning and staff development. The review process differs from department to department, and even from manager to manager within departments. Career paths and succession planning seem non-existent. The result is that promotions, raises, and bonuses all appear to be based on your social/political standing... as much as performance.

    Advice to Management

It's possible to keep the informal culture & still be transparent and serious about career development!

I have been working at R&R Partners full-time

    Pros

The breadth of work coming through this agency is impressive. Opportunity to learn multiple verticals across disciplines. The culture is great and colleagues know when to rally to get the job done.

    Cons

Sometimes there are long hours that need to be worked and it feels like there is no work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

There is an unspoken expectation for people to put in extra hours and there is very little balance when it comes to life outside the agency. While it isn't verbally expressed that we should put in extra hours, it's often looked down upon when we leave 'on time'.

I have been working at R&R Partners full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Continuing education is encouraged through conferences, webinars, training -Approachable & down to earth management -Opportunity to grow: Given guidance, growth plans, & goals to achieve for pesonal growth -Recognition of employees through awards and mentions -Work life balance -Culture (celebrations, activities, cross office engagement etc.) -Media training program -Fun atmosphere -Benefits

    Cons

The only thing of note is that the outer offices sometimes aren't as exciting as the LV office/ don't get the same perks which is understandable with the amount of employees in LV and the activities available to them due to their location. Your outer office will be what you make it, I've found coworkers are excited to incorporate fun activities in the outer offices too, you just have to take initiative.

    Advice to Management

Overall, continue to recognize employees the way you do because it inspires and encourages the younger/newer people on the team. Continue the cross office engagement and really go the extra mile to include outer offices.

I have been working at R&R Partners full-time

    Pros

R&R has/is: energetic atmosphere, colleagues that are like family, exciting solutions/creative work for clients, good work/life balance, community involvement through R&R Foundation, 9 diverse offices; independent; and at the intersection between advertising and politics.

    Cons

With so many positives, it is difficult to find negatives. Employees are often very busy (which I see as more of a positive than a negative), and as with any agency, work is driven by deadlines. With so many creative personalities, coming to work is always exciting--never a dull moment!
