I worked at RADIAS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As a first job out of college, working here for a year or max two years does get you some introductory experience into the field of mental health work.

    Cons

Draconian leadership - when we expressed concern for the care/well-being of staff, leadership focused on hiring more human resources workers instead of focusing on actually helping staff. Pay is low. Benefits mediocre. Experience at first is good, but very quickly there is a diminishing rate of return from the experience you can gain within the company. Problems are not addressed, and if a problem becomes too big, HR/upper management will go on a punishment-spree of lower-level staff.

    Advice to Management

Work on hearing what your staff want and need, instead of focusing on how to make more money.

I worked at RADIAS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, friendly and helpful HR staff., Good benefits, parking reimbursement. Nice building. Some minimal training opportunities. Wellness offering. Like certain employees that can do whatever they want, or don't want, to do.

    Cons

    ONLY concern-billable hours!
Self care of employees is not a concern
Put employee safety at risk often
    Zero flexibility
    Ridgid
Don't replace staff, just ask more of current staff

    Advice to Management

Practice valuing your employees a little bit. It might be surprising if morale was increased, employees might be more efficient and happy resulting in better work outcomes.

I worked at RADIAS Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

4 out of 5 times your coworkers are amazing
a couple supervisors who are diamonds in the rough
pto - if you can bunker down to continue working there

    Cons

    Everything
Upper management only care about their own butts. This does not include lower management-sadly they have no voice either
Basically you need to conform or they will push you out
They are incredibly humiliating when you leave - i.e. they walk you out, pack up your belongings and ship them to you
They make it seem like they're supportive in you advancing your education, license, and career-but again if you don't conform, then when an opportunity arises don't expect them to advance you or provide you any support if you are advancing
Management is very clicky and mean girls-like. You're told who to sit with, who to include into email, you have to funnel all knowledge to your supervisor, but hell if the same is returned to you
They act like they care about your self-care, mental health, and well-being--oh but they do NOT!

    Advice to Management

You all are horrible and only look out for each other.
The fact that they don't see their role as supportive is a CLEAR sign that they do not have a care in the world about their employees.
Staff turnaround is very high for this company---and it has NOTHING to do with the clientele (bc people would not be interested to begin with if the clientele 'scared' them)

I worked at RADIAS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Typically, laid-back shifts (except when they're not)
    -High-quality management
    -Decent pay
    -Excellent benefits
    -Fed on the job

    Cons

-Can be difficult to utilize their generous PTO plan/get shifts covered
-Clients can be very intense (but that's part of the job description)
-Management is sometimes overworked, unable to properly respond to the concerns of lower-ranked employees

    Advice to Management

Make sure there is enough of you to go around!

    Pros

    Absolutely None
I would give ZERO STARS IF I COULD

    Cons

They will work you to death, doing the job of many.
The do not appreciate any of there staff.
    Zero appreciation.
If you have a backbone at all, and stick up for yourself, they will harass and push
    You out.
Your life will be threatened by their clients, they will not care, and treat you as if it is your fault.

    Advice to Management

Get an entire NEW HR DEPT.
HR dept has never worked in the field.
A terrible set of human beings, zero compassion for their staff that does the tough work day in day out.
Worked 70+ hrs a week for the company.
    Zero loyalty
Simply do not care about their staff

    Pros

I didn't really experience any Pro's while working for SMHS.

    Cons

Supervisors are not supportive, they bully you and if you can think for yourself, your in trouble. Supervisors will question your every decision, rarely provide any feedback or support and will fire you for any reason. They'll also make you drive your own car, and if a client soils your seats, good luck trying to get them to pay for it. SHMS will provide you with barely enough training and then just throw you on the schedule with minimal supervision or support. The support team, supervisors and administration have their favorites and if your not one of them, you might as well quit. They aren't concerned with helping the clients to move forward with their lives, they are just concerned with keeping them were they are at, and collecting money from them. If you are looking to advance your career, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend changing just about everything you do. Try supporting your staff, instead of blaming them for anything that happens. I would recommend more training, having supervisors actually do the work they are assigned instead of passing it off to the MHC.

    Pros

They welcome you in with a great facade of caring about you and your career. They do have many useful trainings.

    Cons

They target strong minded people to try to push out or they fire. They are more concerned over controlling their employees every move than in actually helping their clients.
