I worked at RAK Ceramics full-time

    Pros

Great Job offer letter. The Salary will be far lower than what you ask for but they'll mention all these great "benefits" to make up for it. But in reality they don't have to actually provide any of them if they don't want to. There's no legal obligation.

    Cons

    1) Long long long working hours.
    2) They have a stupid alternate working Saturday system. Wherein you need to come to the office at least 2 Saturdays a month just to work from 9:00 - 13:00.
    3) There's no supervision by the manager on employees to ensure that employees are cooperating with one another to the fullest.
    4) There's no clear defined guidelines on what is acceptable or unacceptable to management.
    5) Some managers (more like one particularly) treat their female employees like Barbie dolls they can replace on average every 4 months since the time he was first employed which was only 18 months ago (4 females hired & fired in 18 months, 3 of which were African. Only the Asian like the manager was transferred to another department).
    6) There's no transparency on what are all the deadlines for work to be done on a monthly basis & what are the inputs required to get that work done in order to follow up with other departments for them beforehand.
    7) Weird managers who have this very peculiar way of "letting people go" which is by blaming the immigration for it but it coincidentally happens 5 minutes after they had argued with the same person "immigration" is suddenly "not OK" with.
    8) The same weird manager sets up Team Lunchs for the first time then gets upset if you interact with other teammates aside from him.
    9) HR are responsible to provide you with a phone & sim & active internet connection for management & coworkers to reach you on, instead of making that available first then expecting you to be reachable, they'll judge you right off the bat if your PERSONAL phone or internet connection or both aren't working for any reason.
    10) will get judged for keeping within the Sick absentee limit of 2 days per month.
    11) got told by manager in the first week that he's a very busy person, never in the office etc. Attends meetings back to back then gets judged for not spending "time" with him.
    12) very interesting understanding of "human behavior" takes explanations as "justifications" & an "excuse" to keep doing the exact same thing instead of how it could be for the exact opposite purpose & won't give you a chance to prove it, because they'll make HR say "immigration doesn't want you" within 5 minutes of this happening.

    Advice to Management

Get a new PMO that is actually interested in identifying & solving ORGANIZATIONAL problems rather than constantly hiring & firing their OWN people. Current PMO office doesn't have time to solve your problems because they are too busy mishandling their own!!
Imagine if Turnover across the board was as pathetic as PMO's how will you get anything done?
    That's the thing. You won't.
Also what kind of solutions do you expect to get from someone who doesn't believe in conflict resolution, instead he walks away from the problem & gives HR a lame excuse to give you 5 minutes after you left his office?
Which leads to this point, ideally bring someone who is mature enough to express their opinions & if they're going to lie, it would be a well thought of lie, that was done within acceptable timeframe, instead of covering one lie with another with the no timeframe to support the lies.
It makes the person look childish & stupid & demanding respect after that is impossible if they weren't already in a senior position.

I have been working at RAK Ceramics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It is one of the largest Ceramic manufacturing company having widest range of technology to manufacture and cater to the customers across the world

    Cons

The management practices are of antediluvian type and has not changes over the time. There is utter lack of objective measure to performance. There exists too much subjectivity in deciding the course of actions. Lack of good communications is missed sorely

    Advice to Management

it needs to be more objective oriented in its approach. The people working should be treated for their competence than their loyalty. HR practices have to undergo substantial modernization to meet the present day requirement
