I worked at RB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good Learning opportunities for starting a career.

    Cons

There is rampant favoritism in hiring process in INDIA operations. I already had experience in quality field and spent some time at RB corporate office in UK, BUT I still wasn't called for an interview at their Baddi plant, even after approaching them many times.

    Advice to Management

FAVORITISM (hiring closed relatives and acquaintances over more-deserving candidates) in hiring process makes it worthless to even try for applying in this company. Company Ethics and Rules seem to be only applicable in UK, while outside UK, they are thrown out of window.

I have been working at RB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun, lots to do, given responsibility from day one, opportunities, fast pased, variable and changing work load, great like minded people who are passionate about RB and our products.

    Cons

Little training, priorities and objectives can change on a whim. Top level decision making can be questionable. Unrealistic objectives and timings. No one would bat an eye lid if you did 80 hr weeks every week or 38 hrs. Those who do 80 are doing something wrong , or their managers are IMO.

    Advice to Management

Listen and speak to your teams, at all levels. Allocate work for each person that can reasonably by achieved. Setting unrealistic targets for work will only burn people out and make them leave. Worse still, could result in accidents and mistakes.

I worked at RB full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Guys on shop floor all great
Money is great to pack boxes
    Promotions available (to yes men)

    Cons

Random shifts changing day by day
    Blame culture
    All take and no give
    Poor HR team
    Numbers are important not people

    Advice to Management

Look after people on the shop floor, after all, they are the ones who make your products. No shop floor production, no comoany

I have been working at RB full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They are very keen to push you in your career and you get back what you give. As long as your willing to work hard and put in the hours you will exceed.

    Cons

Long hours of working and you must be very commited to getting the job done no matter what it takes. The culture can be difficult if your not used to working a certain way, however if you embrace this you can realise how much you can get done.

I have been working at RB full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced which enables you to learn quickly.

Can gain transferrable skills which other employees will appreciate.

Use this company as a stepping stone only!

    Cons

Stressful environment with unsupportive managers. Bullying tactics and very political even cross functional and in the same team, blame culture is encouraged!

Great career progression if you are a favourite however if you are talented but are not a yes person be prepared not to progress and have no development plan.

    Advice to Management

Need to remove bullying and politics from the business and start listening to your employees actually carrying out the work.

I worked at RB full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great portfolio to learn various regulations and strategies, compliance and route to market experience. Supportive R&D function collaborating well with regulatory and supply. Aggressive marketing strategy and market penetration sees RB often being an acquisition company and growing.

    Cons

Poor salary, over exhausting work load and more responsibility than initially defined within job description. multiple process tangents diverting focus onto following process rather than regulation. Speed over perfection mentality leading progressively towards non compliance and conformance issues. Innovative focus often leaving other segments of the same function gap filling and crossing t's dotting i's due to poor initial execution.

Political hierarchy where your face has to fit not your level of skill. It is not how much you know but rather how long you have inflated ego's and been a door mat for RB.

Non meretricious company that turns a blind eye to rising talent due to corporate and personal political agendas.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge outstanding talent within the company - offer promotions to the deserving based on knowledge and technical performance not based on word wizardry and "people management". Pay better to ground teams to justify the exhaustive amount of responsibility blindly added to their job description. Continue exposing new employees to different aspects of the same business segment and do not save this particularly for a better paid graduate.
