I worked at RBC Bearings (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The atmosphere and management is good. Job is great have room to grow. Pay is good. Can cross over to different department for job

    Cons

Job is driven on how the oil industry is doing. So if it's down job is slow.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing to say

I worked at RBC Bearings as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

great managers, helpful atmosphere. Everyone seemed to care that I have everything I needed for my analysis. Would work there again in a management position.

    Cons

Outdated software for production planning, difficult to export past reports from database.
Besides those two things everything was good.

    Advice to Management

Invest in some more recent software. Doesn't have to be SAP but it should at least allow to export reports into excel directly. Keep up the friendly and supportive spirit!

I worked at RBC Bearings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

90% of the people that work here are amazing professionals. Everyone seems willing to work hard for each other and there is little fear of management. From the CEO to the floor managers, everyone seems to realize their employees are their most valuable asset.

    Cons

Open management positions are frequently filled from outside the company. Promotions from within are not necessarily met with appropriate compensation.

    Advice to Management

Higher salaries required to retain top talent.

    Pros

Lot's of room for growth within the company. They like to bump people up the ladder fairly quickly if you show the right initiative.

    Cons

At my division they wouldn't hire another CNC programmer to take over when they let the last one go, so me and a couple other engineers had to take over the role, which put a lot of the shop floor guys in a bad mood because that was a position they would like to have been considered for.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to get the product line managers to get more production done during the first half of the month, so that the second half isn't so hectic.

I have been working at RBC Bearings full-time

    Pros

They have the best health insurance package anywhere that I have seen. Overall great benefits (health, dental, vision)

    Cons

They do not provide a very good 401k match. I would say lowest that I have seen or know of.

    Pros

time with family is encouraged, time to relax is also encouraged with areas designated for that purpose workout areas are also provided

    Cons

training is not regimented. training needs to be on a more professional basis without the assumption that someone knows what is going on

    Advice to Management

keep the promises of outings and financial advancements.

    Pros

It was a very informative internship.
My boss was very supportive when I needed help.
Very respected company to work for.

    Cons

The working atmosphere is kind of dull.
If you are not working as an engineer there you a really an "minority" in the company.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more of a training program established when begining to work there. The working atmosphere needs to be a little bit more open to communication.

    Pros

the way the atmosphere is at this facility is we are a hudge gear working togeather, we also have some of the best managment I have seen in my career.

    Cons

working togeather, sometimes does create issues with some here as to working to get month end totlas and spreeding employees to other work ares and the feeling of invasion of others taking there work away.

    Advice to Management

well with some of the talk on the floor we would all like to see a cost of living increase as well some think after receiving the award from mitsubishi for the second time we should get a bonus showing gratatude for all of our hard work.
