    Pros

Best place I've ever worked. Enjoyed most of the people I worked with. Compensation and benefits were good. Company affords people the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities, particularly compared to many other investment banks.

    Cons

Brand recognition is not what it is for other firms or what it could/should be. It is unfortunate, because I've worked at more "name brand" banks where the people were highly incompetent and where the work was poor - at RBC the brand recognition isn't as good, but I felt the people and the work we did was significantly better than at other "name brand" banks.

    Advice to Management

No significant feedback for senior management.

    Pros

There are several "best" reasons to work for RBC Bank. First, our benefits are Wonderful and very affordable compared to other companies. Second, there are so many departments within the bank which provides us the opportunity to learn and grow within the "same" company if we choose a new path. Third, the pay is competitive with the market for related positions. Last but not least, RBC is located around the world so there should be opportunities in the event someone needs to relocate! Great place to work!

    Cons

There is no specific downside related directly to RBC Bank. Even though RBC is a great place to work, it still has "drama" within all departments. Of course, this is with any company. It does seem that certain departments get more support for initiatives and ideas than other departments. This has been expressed as one side of the bank being the "Dark" side of the bank.

    Advice to Management

Respect your subordinates as you would want to be respected if you were in their shoes. Let people express their ideas and give them credit if an idea is pursued. Don't be intimidated by new talent. Let new talent shine as it will only make you as Senior Management look good by that person being on your team. Motivation will gladly be given when appreciation is shown. Intimidation goes nowhere.

    Pros

Very nice people and friendly atmosphere.

There is no 401k match for FA's with production under 300k and there are several annoying out of pocket expenses the firm doesn't cover.
