I worked at REED full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits
    Instant name recognition
    Lots of opportunities
    Company values are outstanding
    Variety of recruitment areas

    Cons

Different "specialisms" compete with each other and reed.co.uk for business, and it can get really nasty
Managers are so busy making sales figures that they don't manage staff properly
Lip service paid to values, but not upheld in the company
Outdated mentality about recruitment: call, call, call, etc

    Advice to Management

The glut of agencies in the recruitment industry means that the "tried and true" methods don't work anymore. Reed has ceased to offer a "value add" to the recruitment process, especially when consultants are having to compete with deep discounts offered by reed.co.uk. Needs to be more united, and revisit how reed will fit into the new environment of recruitment.

I have been working at REED full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I’ve been working for Reed for 6 months now and I’m so happy to be here! I had a bit of a rocky start, I applied for a consultant role originally in October and passed the testing but was not offered. I was gutted as I’d been trying to get into recruitment for what felt like forever! Carly who was my contact in internal recruitment was so lovely gave me some brilliant feedback and told me where I needed to improve and what I could do to help my chances if I wanted to reapply in future and said she would be in touch if anything else came up. I was so pleased she didn’t forget about me - in February she emailed me to let me know about a Resourcer role which I applied for and was offered! I’m so grateful be be given this opportunity and I’ve loved every minute of my time here so far. My manager has been so supportive and I can’t wait to see where I will be this time next year!

    Cons

Dress code is annoying in summer - it’s too hot for suits/ties etc

    Advice to Management

    None I can think of.
