    Pros

Going out with the consumers, and learning about their likes and dislike. Working together with coworkers and being able to bounce ideas off each other

I have been working at REM Minnesota full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive wage determined by difficulty of clients up to $13.10 an hour. Houses are generally well stocked with groceries and there is a healthy menu. Medical administrator training is through and staff receive PIA training.

    Cons

Staff are often criticized for client behaviors they have no control over. Staff find it difficult to get time off due to low staffing. Clients with high level behaviors are placed in homes due to the amount of money they bring to the company rather than if their needs can be met by the staff available . There is an extremely high turn over rate which places extreme pressure on existing staff to pick up hours until and after burn out is achieved.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to be more focused on the day to day client cares. Management needs to step in (PDs too) when staff have been working for days on end to give them a break . Staff often complain that the company does not care about them or their safety and personal lives, only about the money clients bring in.

    Pros

Flexible schedules, great clients to work with. Great ongoing training programs, time off benefits were good. Good work environment when employees do what is expected of them.

Raise rates of pay for employees and better commit to screening and hiring well qualified individuals.
