I worked at REPOWER America full-time

    Pros

I worked at REPOWER for over 4 years in a number of different roles. Tons of opportunity to grow professionally. Though execution has been a challenge, the vision of creating a marketplace for solar stake holders is desperately needed in the industry. The leadership team has a a wealth of experience that they are willing to share and if you are up for it you will learn a ton from them. The culture does not tolerate dead weight and if you are not contributing you will feel uncomfortable (probably where the negative reviews are coming from). No doubt there are problems that need to be solved at REPOWER so if you are looking for an opportunity to make a huge impact and learn about the solar industry REPOWER is a great place to work. If you want to be coddled and keep your head down you will not succeed here.

    Cons

    Long hours sometimes as needed.

    Advice to Management

Work on different ways to communicate your vision to all levels of the organization.

    Pros

    Good idea (asset-light tail-end management).
They could sell a turd to a toilet.
    Lunch provided.

    Cons

For a time the company was an unintentional pyramid scheme...smaller partners milestone payments were being redirected to keep larger partners happy.
Very poor strategy decisions made which resulted in over-exposure, missing equipment, and abandoned customers/clients.
No management of, or intent to address, long outstanding debts and install obligations to customers and partners.
Very poor communication between HQ & network - HQ understaffed and non-responsive to partner's needs. Any services are perfunctory and all obligations are pushed downstream to partners.
CRM & accounting platforms completely convoluted and not user-friendly for staff or partners.
Training team mostly runs new partners in circles then leaves them to the wind, placing strain on other departments to continue coaching.
Smells of imminent sell-off and/or bankruptcy. Debts and lawsuits greatly exceed assets.

    Advice to Management

Think about the little people, the customers who bought into the solar dream. The ones who now have holes in their roof, missing equipment, a 2nd mortgage, higher util bills, a salesman who disappeared, an installer who disappeared, and a phone number to an empty office in Oakland. All the sales teams & small biz installers who were sold the repower dream only to get stuck in a nightmare.

I worked at REPOWER America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The solar industry is a close-knit group of people trying to make the world a better place.

    Cons

First of all, they removed several of the earlier reviews, and any review made in 2017 with a rating above a 1 star was made fraudulently by the marketing director (ex: "Young Company with innovative vision"). That is the first indicator of their shady business practices. It is no coincidence someone has not written a positive review.

Next, ask any of their partners what they think about them, their response will be unanimous in that they have not been paid for their work in months. The company robs peter to pay paul and have no cash, surprised they haven't filed for bankruptcy yet. The only reason they have not yet is that they swindle the investors into thinking they are profitable when in fact this company's financial decisions are horrendous at best.

They are basically running a Ponzi scheme and not only are they hurting the innocent customer that just wants solar, they are ruining the lives of small business owners by not paying them. They blatantly cook the books for investors, pay only a select few partners until they even have to leave due to the money drying up. This is a company of about 35 people, we all talk and know how bad it is, that is why almost all original employees left, and management doesn't even bother to show their faces around the office because of it. They are successfully running this company into the ground.

They do not want you to learn or grow in your role, just how to manipulate you into being a pawn in their game of fraud and deceit. Very unethical, and with their poor decision making, will not be around long term.

    Advice to Management

None because they will not listen.

But if they did, learn to manage your money so you can pay your partners and employees. Run an ethical business practice so you are not ashamed to show up to the office more than once a month, and fire the dead weight at the top who are responsible for making the poor decisions that led to the current economic state.

    Pros

    Great industry to be in

    Cons

It's really hard to reboot a company with mediocre management and employees that do not work well with each other.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending you know what you are doing and get people that actually know how to run the company.

    Pros

Great office and a solid team that is really working to deliver a successful asset light solar company.

    Cons

It is still the solar coaster and there is a lot of cleaning up still to be done, but overall it is on the right track with fewer layers and greater transparency.

    Pros

benefits are good and they have a decent life-work balance. Pay is good but unfair between positions. co-workers are awesome and are always willing to help, even through the daily chaos and bs.

    Cons

management doesn't get it. they make too many dumb mistakes that cost employees lots of headaches and time wasted. they enjoy trying to fix things that are not broken and only care about inflated numbers and shoving equipment down the throats of their partners, which always comes back around to bite them later. it's not a place to work for, it's one of those places you'd only like to visit for a short period of time. they are the leeches of the solar industry in sucking out the life of partners, not paying them, and paying bigger partners with smaller partners money, rather than trying to keep them all content. They have the "rob peter to pay paul" mentality and they'll keep doing it, not learning the previous lesson. they'll switch your position without hesitation and before you know it, you'll be doing a job duty for which you did not apply for, and in turn, it'll be one you dislike. They appear to be honest but honestly, it's an illusion that eventually gets discovered.

    Advice to Management

try to "hear" your employees and don't just "listen" to them. being mendacious will get you even more lawsuits and disgruntled employees. Try the honest approach for once.

    Cons

    Advice to Management
