I have been working at RGIS part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Part time. Most of the time you work early in the AM so you are free to do whatever with the rest of your day.

    Cons

Part time. Not a dependable income, some weeks you're busy, some you are not. Pay.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the old pay system instead of this flat rate, per level idea. It is already unreliable income and now you made it so your rate of pay isn't even reliable. I think a normal pay system worked better because I felt you built a much better employee baseline. Especially in a job where the work is inconsistent.

I worked at RGIS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For those who want a job that they can do before their 9 - 5 it's great, and you aren't obligated to work every job they post available.

    Cons

The hours are mostly very early and if you are a single parent it's not so easy to get a sitter for 3am so you can go work 3 or 4hrs. You start at $9hr which didn't seem right given the difficulty of hours available for working in my case.

    Advice to Management

Make sure people know most available working hours start before 5am. Because people need to make informed family arrangements or at the very least have the opportunity to turn down the job because they can't be available for the available hours of work

I have been working at RGIS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Hired on the spot
    -They do train
-Job itself is easy, all you do is scan things
-You can find some nice people there. SOME.

    Cons

Treat this job for what it is. In my opinion it is only to be considered as an extra money type of thing if you have some spare time on your hands or just looking to make a little extra cash on top of a full time job or something. You aren't meant to be doing this every day on something like a regular, full time job type of basis (for lack of better phrasing).

I currently work for RGIS. Been here for a little over a month. Quitting Friday because I just can't do it. They send you everywhere and its not even worth it at times for the rate of pay. You know when you start but don't know when you finish. The least lengthy way to explain it would be Unorganized/hectic schedule. Odd times, odd distances, no structure, being given full time hours for a PART TIME job. I've been working for days straight and no off days.

They say everything is within in a 30 mile radius, with that in mind you would think that since they do business with a lot of stores that most jobs would be at least a little bit more closer to home considering that they are some of everywhere. Instead it seems like they REALLY like to push the boundaries by giving you all the furthest stores possible and sometimes still schedule stores OUTSIDE of that radius and expect you to drive there. As said before some/most jobs aren't even worth the travel there. You could very well be wasting more in gas monet yto get to stores than actually earning enough to keep. (Ex. I'd be assigned to go to a store a good ways away in at 6am and only be there for 2 hrs, another day I'd at some other store for 6 or longer).

As far as the other people who either work with you or in higher positions. Some are nice but then you have your rude, not friendly, or people who feel superior for whatever reason cause they can count things faster like that means anything. In order for you to even be considered for a raise after so many weeks you would need to be counting like a maniac while still trying to maintain "accuracy", which can be impossible if we aren't doing a store with only clothes. They'll make us do single scans on entire stores and stuff and huge boxes and sometimes its not easy to just pick them up and find a bar code to scan.

Also even though they have a newer model machine we aren't using it all the time, they still sometimes make us use their outdated counting machines which can really put a damper on your counting cause you're just not used to either one of them quite yet.

Also there is a severe downtime in the late fall/winter months where you'll make barely anything. At this rate I'm much better off just working a regular full time job with consistent days/schedule times. Less Headache and at least I know I can pay the bills that way.

    Advice to Management

Please for goodness sake, get some order going in the schedules. It needs not be as sporadic as it is. I don't care if i set my schedule for anytime availability. I still expect there to be some structure in my schedule.

Set up more teams for different stores if possible.

    Advice to Management
