I worked at RGP for more than a year

    Pros

Their client base is substantial, and I was able to use my level of experience to provide high quality deliverables from the start

    Cons

If the client engagement is over and you are not reassigned right away, you risk eligibility for benefits.

I worked at RGP for more than 5 years

    Pros

They get you work when and if they have a client that needs your skill set - great for someone that only wants pt/ft project work but does not want to do the biz dev.

    Cons

You are a commodity not an employee really - although you have to be a w2. The margin target is 40%.

    Advice to Management

Be honest. The business model is what it is - contract work.

I have been working at RGP for more than 5 years

    Pros

Client base primarily in the Fortune 100, mid level accounting positions. Good benefits, high quality consultants

    Cons

If you're looking for higher level projects, this might not be the place for you.

    Advice to Management

More investment in business development, not just maintenance of existing client base.

    "No work = no pay"

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at RGP full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

While assigned to an active client work engagement, compensation and benefits are a liitle above normal market offerings. The company encourages their consultants to go above and beyond the typical contactor work tasks and create a value-addedd relationship. Mostly high-level, short to mid-term project type work.

    Cons

Not a steady income - "no work = no pay" - be prepared for 2-3 months of "down-time" between working engagements. Minimal reimbursement amount allocated for professional develpement and education. Almost enough to cover annual membership dues for one professional certification.

    Advice to Management

If they truly value the talent they have recruited, they would financially try to buffer consultants "Down-time" and increase professional development stimuli - maybe during 'Down-time"..

    I worked at RGP

    Pros

They give out goodies, have parties and award you when customers compliment your work.

    Cons

They leave you with too much bench time and threaten to never use you again if you work in the interim for another company. Their reimbursement of expenses isn't always timely.

    Advice to Management

Manage your inventory of employees to meet your clients needs and no black balling when employees work for other companies to have income.

    I worked at RGP

    Pros

-Consulting jobs require the highest level of experience. Not likely that a very senior person will be asked to do low level work just for billable hours. -Choice on what projects to take. That means no travel if you don't want and its not held against you! -No overtime unless the client pays you for it. -Great Managing Director and team working hard to keep you staffed between projects.

    Cons

-Little training offered or difficult to access it if available. -Didn't feel like an employee of RGP but more connected to the client culture.

    Advice to Management

-Your model is a refreshing change from the other big firms and ensures that the right people are staffed on the right projects always. Keep up the great work and expand your service offerings.

I have been working at RGP

    Pros

Flexible, high quality, dynamic environment where management works with your strengths and weaknesses.

    Cons

You have to be willing to live with insecurity, but, in this market, there is no such thing as a permanent job.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for associate/consultant interaction.

I have been working at RGP

    Pros

Almost without exception, the consultants from Resources Global Professionals have been smart, collegial, and hard working. The management seems genuinely concerned about the company's consultants and dedicated to their success. They really are more than a headhunting firm...the look for loyalty and long term relationships with their consultants. The benefits are good and the stock purchase plan can be lucrative when the stock price is rising.

    Cons

The company does project work and pays by the hour. Though they work hard to keep employees staffed, beach time does occur in some of the smaller practices/markets. It can be tough on the pocketbook. If you need a steady paycheck, this reality can make things difficult at RGP.

    Advice to Management

Giving consultants more opportunities to assist with business development- as well as have some opportunities to maintain income during bench time for some of the smaller practices and markets would allow even better retention of top consultants.

    I worked at RGP

    Pros

Worklife balance -- opportunity for good assignments, great clients available

    Cons

regional offices can differ from the national or international mainstream, this local office is not aligned with notion that the assets of the firm are the employees or associates... before the turnover of the local office my responses would have been different. Associates as individuals have little opportunity to impact their own utility, client service staff can seem unwilling to engage either the staff or the clients, seems that the relationship management skills are poorly developed.

    Advice to Management

pay attention to the associates, turnover and feedback on the client service relationships, they tell a story. Very satisfied 15-18 months ago.... the turnover of many key individuals, who were former top performers indicates that something is amiss
