I have been working at RGP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fair management and a great place to learn and go if you have the drive. Most people will take the time to answer your questions if they have a minute. Bonuses are team/office based meaning your contribution to the whole is more important than a personal one.

    Cons

Intense sales atmosphere can be intimidating to some, some managers can be direct to a fault, but it's not common. Change of title and promotions can be incredibly slow.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to promote growth within the firm by creating training for Client Service and Recruiting that has some sort of actual structure to it.

    Pros

Good Pay different clients. Rate is very negotiable if you have niche skillsets. They pay you overtime 1.5x as well

    Cons

Will be out of job unless new project is given. Sometime you can be under employed, less than 40hrs a day. Vacations accrue slow at first

    Advice to Management

Keep the clients coming so that workflow for consultants are now reduced.

I worked at RGP as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Full benefits package. Health insurance is pricey, but it's still good they offer it. Pay is ok. You don't have to get involved with corporate politics of the client. Opportunity to learn new skills. Good work/life balance since you stay late at the clients only if you want to.

    Cons

Very high deductible ($1750) and $72 per paycheck for healthcare. PTO is offered but not much. Can't really choose assignments like the company claims. There is a disconnect between the central office and consultants. Wondering if your contract will be extended or if you will have time between engagements can be stressful.

    Advice to Management

Reach out to clients sooner to see if they will be extending the contract. Engage with consultants more often. Don't make promises you don't plan on keeping. Keep consultants updated on potential new engagements to minimize. Clarify what the vision of the company is. It seems like a lot of people are just here as a placeholder job. Consider creating more career opportunities to actually make this a compelling career option. Senior management team is weak- need to CLEAN HOUSE and get rid of people who are there only for themselves and not to help the consultants or improve the company.

I worked at RGP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pleasant company to work for. Freedom to do your work without interference. Nice and smart co-workers. Supportive Management.

    Cons

The Client Directors appear to struggle finding employees new projects. This makes it very stressful when employees are on a project and have just been informed of their roll-off date. They are not sure if they will have a project and likely will start looking elsewhere. In addition, Client Directors fail to inform employees when particular opportunities for which they had been presented have sailed.

    Advice to Management

Raise the bar when it comes to hiring Client Directors. They must have proven experience in successfully acquiring new projects. Currently, many excellent employees are rolling off their projects and end up leaving the firm because there are no new projects.

    Pros

The variety of work keeps you interested and engaged.
Compensation is at or above market and you are paid for every hour you work.

Very standard benefit package. Performance review process is not consistent.

    Advice to Management

Need to be more nimble and get into new areas such as Customer Experience, Internet of Things. Cannot rely solely on large financials services clients.

I worked at RGP as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

RGP placements become an integral part of the client's team. RGP enables you to secure contract work that may be difficult to find independently. Paid overtime greatly improves your attitude toward staying late when requested!

    Cons

At the time they did not have enough clients requiring my area of expertise to keep me booked full time all year. As they continue to grow, I imagine this has improved.

Decent benefits, 401k match, and ESPP; time and 1/2 over 40 hours per week.

    Cons

Can spend a lot of down time between contracts waiting for a new role.

    Advice to Management

Work harder to findo roles foe alumni or those on the bench.

I have been working at RGP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're the type of person who desires flexibility, this company may be for you.

    Cons

Usually the client needs someone for a role that is pretty mundane. In the Finance world now, they are very concerned about risk and limit a consultant's exposure to critical materials or functions. Also, there is limited paid time off so you need to think twice before going to that doctor's appointment and squirrel away money cuz you don't know when your assignment may come to an end. They do try to minimize downtime for good employees.
