I worked at RHA Health Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, great training programs, opportunities for advancement, and competitive pay makes working at RHA a wonderful career choice.

    Cons

There were some mental health programs they did not have experience with that would have been extremely beneficial for the area I was employed in. Beyond that, I have nothing to say about working at RHA that could be a point for improvement.

    Advice to Management

Expand program availability in rural areas of states in which RHA resides as a mental health provider.

I have been working at RHA Health Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are a good worker you will get hours. You get paid orientation. Its a great job if you are desperate. As long as you meet The basic requirements you are hired. The clients are so sweet. The managers are in the home almost everyday. You can be crossed trained at other locations which increase your chances of getting hours. You get 2 raises. One after your 90 days and one for becoming a med tech. If you are a college student needing experience for social work or medical field..this is the place! Hard to get fired! Job stability because it can never go out of business due to the nature of the type of work.

    Cons

Where do I begin.. Low pay. Enjoy those raises because it's all your getting..except for rare cases. And I do mean rare. Once you Are out of orientation..throw every thing you were taught away!! The staff there don't even know what your talking about because they never received that kind of training. Do not expect anything to change. The staff are over worked and burned out. The 401k is basically the stock market which means you could lose everything!!!!! No pension or retirement so save ur money. Most employees work other jobs to make ends meet due to low pay. Gossip city so keep your personal life to yourself. predominantly women..few men stay.

    Advice to Management

Get off of the high horse. Take away some of the paper work.

I have been working at RHA Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The group model relaxes billing hour requirements while being at an agency. A lot depends on if you have a good director or not.

    Cons

The clinical support is mostly focused on liability and doing what their supervisor won't get upset about. Often it's not actually helpful to seek supervision.

    Advice to Management

Recognize staff accomplishments and the work they put into their jobs. Take a supportive first approach and recognize that the front line staff have their license on the line, not you.

Management expects employees to ignore mistreatment of clients, and sexual harassment in the workplace.

    Advice to Management

To avoid conflict, and complaints, hire people who affiliate with organizations that ignore civil rights.

I worked at RHA Health Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The clients and the ability to be treated and stabilised are the pros. There are some caring and knowledgeable staff working here.

    Cons

Management, HR and above care only about the numbers of clients in facility not about the safety of high risk clients. Facts about clients are withheld from admitting physicians so they will be admitted without question although they're over medical risk parameters. This is done with managements knowledge and encouragement...and no crash cart for backup. No raise in 6 years. Gossip rampant and encouraged.

    Advice to Management

Practice what is written in your policies. Stop ignoring the problems.

I have been working at RHA Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility is great which is probably the only thing that makes people stay as long as they do. With the great flexibility you get complacent and forget you're worth more and do way more than most people.

Having the opportunity to work with a great group of people was a plus.

    Cons

    Very low pay
    Can be Stressful
    Drama
    Unprofessional environment
    On-call rotation
    No room for advancement
    No recognition
    Don't feel appreciated or valued

    Advice to Management

Increase the pay for all, upper management are the employees who make a good salary
