I have been working at RMSI part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some traveling out of state,a bit laid back.

    Cons

This company is ran by idiots, both upper and lower management .They don't respect their employees simply because the type of people who work at this company are lucky to even have a job. They dont drug test so its alot of crack heads and pot heads in every ranking of this job. Even alcoholics. These people even smoke pot and drink while on the job and dont get checked for it. I love a laid back work environment as much as the next person but theirs a time and place for some things and work is definitely not the time to be high on drugs. Team leads dress sloppy and are unprofessional sometimes either just lazy and privileged or completely stressed. Ive come across a couple of people who say races comments and curse like a sailor in front of customers. Upper management know these people are desperate for work so they show little respect and take advantage of employees knowing they'll have to go along with it because what other job options are their for people who love drugs? When you're on the traveling conversion they make you work an insane amount of hours sleep depriving you and force you to roommate with complete strangers whome you never even met until you show up or put you in a room with someone who's personality or cleanliness doesnt match yours so its an uncomfortable environment . They make you drive hours to and from different stores that are spread apart yet they pay drivers the same as passenger's . They never have set teams and schedules they just do whatever pops into their head at the moment so the schedules and teams are sometimes pointless to invest anything in. They tell you things on a "need to know basis" Basically when it comes to upper management if something doesn't directly affect them they can care less about what happens when it comes to their decision making. Most of the time Upper management ignores emails and calls unless it's something they personally care about. Your experience and hours and small perks at this job will not be that good unless you're buddy buddy with team leads or higher ups. Unless you just have seniority, they dont care how hard you work they just care about who's personality they like the most. They like forming cliques and only promoting people within those cliques, giving personal hotel rooms and hours to those cliques yet not allowing the same for everyone else, not because they work hard but because they became good friends. You'll also notice that you'll have a few unofficial team leads walking around doing nothing just laughing and joking with higher ups and team leads simply because they're in the clique. The Only positive thing about the traveling conversion is you get to see different places and you make more than you would back at your home. When you work locally your hours are always a gamble. When you do work they'll give you alot to do in a short amount of time you must be done before 8 hours no overtime allowed. Its funny because the company that this company has a contract with can't even stand them because of how unprofessional their employees are and I don't blame them. But on the flip side rmsi just let's this company bully them making rmsi employees do things that aren't even in their job discription. They dont know how to say no. And neither do Rmsi employees because it's a job these individuals are desparate for and need.

    Advice to Management

Start drug testing when you hire, pay more attention to who you let run things and who you promote. Watch what things you turn a blind eye to. This company is a brewing lawsuit waiting to happen. All It takes is that one employee who cares enough to go through with it. Start being fair to your employees stop running on a buddy system and stop letting your contract company take advantage of your employees. Reward those who deserve it not those who you just like. You cant just pick and choose when to play boss you need to be a boss at all times. Also if you cant comply or afford to get an employee their own room when uncomfortable with a roommate than you shouldn't have people out of state at all. Just my opinion.
