Royal Palms has great people to work with.

    Cons

"Unless you are on the 'good side' of management (meaning really sucking up) you'll go nowhere. Don't expect to make $$$"

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Time off when needed. If they do like you, you can move up.

If you are a manager or higher you can make bank. But if you're a line employee-supervisor, not good salaries.

    Cons

Executives and managers are so far removed. Not involved in day to day and get bonuses based on line level work. Six figure employees don't work as hard and get tons of perks. No holiday parties or rewards.

    Advice to Management

Offer perks to lower level employees, not just executives. Your bonuses are based off the work we do. We get no holiday party and weren't told and then execs got a suite at a Suns game? Not fair and lowers moral.

"They are more concerned with what the owner makes than the employees"

    Pros

Beautiful environment, friendly staff, great food and spa. Have started to promote from within more so than in the past but will still hire sales people from other hotels than promote from within

    Cons

Gradually took away most perks so that owners could make more money and employees took pay cuts, got laid off, took away free soda and stopped providing free hot meals

Some hotel companies offer better travel benefits (best is Starwood and 4 Seasons). DHR doesn't come close on travel perks.

    Advice to Management

Not everything is as it seems, they have no idea what really happens on the front line in most cases. GM is not hands on except in the restaurant
