I worked at RPM part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Job was full-time and secure as long as you showed up every day, regardless of performance.

    Cons

Job was to call past due debtors of accounts sometimes many years old. It was difficult, stressful and not enjoyable at all. All my time was spent on an outbound automated dialer. Bonuses were present but essentially unreachable unless you took inbound calls. Extremely high turnover.

    Advice to Management

    Vary the job more.

    Pros

There isn't much to say that is a pro in regards to this company other than Ok pay, clean, quiet, decent parking,

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Stop treating people as if they're beneath you

Two week training, good location, easy to get hired, good office location in reference to food, key card protected entrance

    Cons

The trainer had no clue what he was talking about. Was totally rude didn't give us a tour. No one got a chance to meet anyone bc we were afraid to talk. Human resources is snobby any make you feel as though you're wasting their time. If you like being pressured to collect or risk being fired, this s your job

    Advice to Management

Restaff the entire place with better people

I have been working at RPM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The division for which I worked had tremendous leadership and was very innovative in creating/adjusting products to meet customer demands. The entire group worked well as a team. The products we sold were cutting edge from an environmental and safety standpoint so you could feel good about your contribution to society. The territory I covered (Western North America) is beautiful!

    Cons

My position required a tremendous amount of overnight/over weekend travel. The HQ was located in Pittsburgh while I was on the West Coast so it was a mixed bag of working autonomously but missing out on the corporate culture and possible career advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Strengthen distributor relationships to cut down on employee overnights travel. Provide employees with some idea of a career path. Other than that, keep doing what you are doing.

    Pros

Good benefits and some are able to work from home if they are lucky. Also looks good on your resume since it is a global company but there is very little opportunity for advancement at headquarters and the operating companies don't share positions either so it's kind of a dead end job.

    Cons

Terrible management - there is no concern for the employees - only shareholders. All that matters is how much money is made and keeping the executive team out of jail. The executives earn all the money while the rest of the work force goes without pay increases.

    Advice to Management

Care about the employees as much as shareholders. Happy employees result in productive employees which results in improved performance and greater profits!
