I have been working at RS Components full-time

    Pros

Good company to work for, good benefits package, some cutting edge technology. Senior management have really got a grip of the company and it is really progressing well.

    Cons

Seem to have a regular cycle of moving people on. When new senior management comes in there is invariably a reshuffle which can force people out who may still have plenty to offer

    Advice to Management

Experience should be valued and effort put into marrying new technologies with experienced knowledge

    Pros

Great opportunity to be part of an organisation that is going places
Since the new CEO joined two years ago he has appointed a new highly skilled senior leadership team who in turn have replaced dead wood in their own areas and the results really speak for themselves! Check out the electrocomponents share price to see an organisation going places!

    Cons

A lot more to do and need to pick up the pace.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the momentum. It's great being part of such an exciting company.

I have been working at RS Components full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work/life balance at RS is far superior to any company I've ever worked at before, with flexible working we are trusted to work by schedules we know works best for us.

We're trusted with our own development within this company and pushed to exceed our own expectations. Within the digital advertising team there aren't really any silos, anyone can work on and push initiatives across PPC, PLAs, Paid Social, Display etc. and we're also encouraged to work with other teams too (such as the on-site agile teams).

This is a huge billion dollar company but there is a start-up feel to it in the sense that our contributions are tangible when you look at the phenomenal digital growth that's occurred in the last few years, and that we're not just cogs. The company structure within digital is open and vast, which allows our career development to be quite fluid.

Senior management have done a great job in communicating the vision to everyone within digital operations, with a personal touch. There's been a huge digital transformation within the organisation over the last two years, which has got everyone excited about what can be achieved.

    Cons

With it being such a large organisation it can sometimes be difficult to find the right people (based in other offices) to talk to about initiatives.

The induction process wasn't the best, but this is something that's actively being looked at to improve.

    Advice to Management

Continue to over-communicate the vision, and focus on developing & attracting talent to the business.

I have been working at RS Components full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    it's a stable income.
There are a lot of other job opportunities in the company to go for.

    Cons

There are a lot of other job opportunities in the company to go for, unfortunately not for my specific department.
The job description was very misleading.

    Advice to Management

I wish management was more hands on and more onsite.
