I have been working at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Steep learning curve, but you learn enough to take on senior roles your second year. You have opportunities to grow and grow others early on. cool!

    Cons

High expectations, sometimes unreasonable for your level.

I worked at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nice people to work with

    Cons

Don’t know how to handle their growth
Do not compensate people appropriately for responsibilities
Leadership is clueless all the way to the top
Zero support from firm from a technical standpoint during inspections which are frequent.
The firm does not care about the integrity of their clients and cares only about fees.

    Advice to Management

Leaders on constant witch hunt to find things wrong with people and do so at all costs which creates a horrible culture. Focus on growth is so ridiculous when the firm can’t even handle the client loads they currently have.

I worked at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Worked with some awesome people.

    Cons

Tons of travel for my role that did not seem necessary. Most information I got from the clients could have been sent over email.

I have been working at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Exposure to multiple industries
    Promotion tack

    Cons

    Lack of transparency regarding pay
Managers will tell you the hours are flexible but then force you to work on their schedule and 50+ hours per week
It is frowned upon to take PTO
Travel to a new client every couple weeks - lack of day to day consistency

I worked at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Meet a lot of people both within the office and at client sites; project opportunities are great; always competing against of people in the office

    Cons

You will travel and work a ton of OT; Management cares more about changeability vs. what is the best situation for employee's and clients; Not a ton of management or leadership support because they are spread so thin; benefits aren't great (I've had better); company started to go the staff augmentation route and move away from the traditional technology and consulting firm; small amount of promotional opportunities

    Advice to Management

Hire more people; move away from the staff augmentation and stay on the consulting and implementation side; show your employee's that you value them and be willing to teach them or make sure they are on projects with there mentors - too many times are mentors and mentee's not on the same project so the mentors have to do double the work to be able to provide support; Promote early and often; Pay more money to the employee's who are traveling more often, this will show that you value them as they are taking time away from there home lives and dedicating themselves to the business (or pay them a bonus)

I worked at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

RSM merges in companies like they are buying groceries. You need to do it but only the partnership of the merged company prospers - so their deal is sweet.

    Cons

If you’re the heart and soul of the merged company, you’ll be asked to leave your strategic and I have skills brain at the door. Unless you hold a national position you have no voice, no matter how talented you are.

    Advice to Management

You need to look deeper as to why so many merged in employees are running to find an exit out. The voice of leadership and the true experience are hugely disconnected. Lip service is meaningless.
