    Pros

good health benefits, and PTO accrual

    Cons

underpaid compared to industry standard, and no bonus for 1st year associates.

    Advice to Management

Advise new hires about the bonus structure. I will have worked here for 25 months before I receive my first bonus.

I worked at RSM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, training, ability to work in different cities for this company.

    Cons

When McGladrey (now RSM) aquired the wonderful, boutique CPA firm of Margolis Phipps & Wright, they began cleaning house. Close to 50% of the employees are no longer there because those who did not fit RSM's cookie cutter employee type either left or were fired. A lot of talented people are now at other firms.

    Advice to Management

Value people for their strengths and place them where they can shine.

I have been working at RSM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good starting pay relative to industry

    Cons

Poor culture, cutting costs, inefficient division of labor between departments

    Advice to Management

FS does much more work than everyone else, gets paid the same, and shows no incentive to work hard (everyone receives same rating)

    Pros

Great straight out of collage, you learn so many different technologies, from Firewalls to Routers, Switches, Servers, VMware and so on.
    Lots of room for growth
    They treat you very nicely
    So much learned
    Fantastic Management!

    Cons

Billing hours created stress for me over time, and that builds. Hours were too long, but thats the nature of consulting.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, you guys were great to me and provided great support and feedback. I really felt like you all cared about my growth, and I appreciated that.

I worked at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Value work-life balance, fun people, very active in the community. Ample PTO. Not a single complaint about he people I worked with.

    Cons

Salary progression is slow, bonuses are insultingly low. Even at higher levels, salary is still significantly below market. Would like quicker advancement when you stand out.

    Advice to Management

Pay different consulting groups based on their value, not based on one firm standard.

I worked at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice social features and community activists

    Cons

Overworked and under appreciate their employees. HR will not give advice to employees on what to do when Directors don't communicate to their staff but will back up Directors immediately without fail.

    Advice to Management

Look at your employee's skills and customer feedback overall before taking the word of one employee or that employee's right hand person. That one person may just have an agenda to get rid of people they have a personal grudge against.

    Pros

Big Four competency with the feel of a small firm. Great place to grow in early stages of career, lots of exposure to all sorts of engagements.

    Cons

Processes could use improvement, namely using Excel for everything. Investments into software to make business chain more efficient would vastly improve quality of work life.

    Advice to Management

More frequent and involved performance reviews would be beneficial. Investment in software systems would help and improve/streamline process.

I have been working at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a great culture and I believe that they shift and change the firm to better align with their people which are surprising for a firm of this size.

Great benefits, they have improved their benefits even more and PTO policy for managers and above. They are trying out new incentives like sabbatical programs, more learning/development opportunities.

    Cons

No cons at this moment, I've been pretty happy with the company and the opportunities that I have been given.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for practicing what you preach about our culture (Power to be understood) it's great that culture is important as we continue to grow so it is really great for me when I think about longevity.
