I have been working at RTP Company full-time

    Pros

Would be better place to work in there were more people to help!

    Cons

Upper management needs to let local plants run their businesses.

    Advice to Management

Poor planning at corporate level filters down to local plants causing unnecessary delays. Get out of the way and things could run more smoothly. .

    Pros

Nice people to work with, some nice perks that you don't always find. The owner cares about his employees and makes a point to know everyone's name and stop by to say hi and see how things are going.

    Cons

Lower salaries for experienced workers and not many women in leadership roles. Understaffed in some departments.

    Advice to Management

Update your salary structure and give more women opportunity to have leadership roles.

I worked at RTP Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay. Met a lot of good people. Did some traveling. Very hands on work, if you like that.

    Cons

Management is very juvenile. (not all, just some) It is a very double edged sword, you are either "in"or you are "out"...literally. No union means no stability. Make sure you join the right clique. Spendy Healthcare.

    Advice to Management

Get over yourself and focus on the job at hand. Notice hard workers. Give credit where credit is due.

"Good pay, benefits are poor, and no personal or sick days."

    Pros

The money is good. Some overtime if you want it, some when you don't.

    Cons

Costly medical, no sick or personal days. If you show up everyday your a Saint, if you get sick your no longer in good standing and your first day is unexcused even with a Doctors order.

    Advice to Management

Spread the wealth. Don't give the plant managers the authority to make company policy.

I have been working at RTP Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Straight 40 hours, travel if you want, interesting work,

    Cons

Lack of accountability, if you are not from Winona then your opportunities are severely limited. Many people here could not hold an equivalent job anywhere else.

    Advice to Management

Share the wealth. RTP is very profitable, but you wouldn't know it based on the constant trimming of employee compensation packages, health care, bonus reductions and incremental reductions to the community.
