    Advice to Management

Could have some but would need to relocate.

    Pros

Health insurance is good. Some of the people are very nice, (unfortunately the bad ones are treated the best). They send high performers on a trip to Mexico, again usually some of the worst people.

    Cons

People are leaving left and right because the place is unorganized, inconsistent and toxic. There is no accountability because so many employees work in a different location than where their supervisor is. Managers are reactive and out of touch. Hostile work environment. I've never worked anywhere that had so much turnover. The highest performing sales people all quit due to poor management.

    Advice to Management

    Quit or retire.

I have been working at Rabobank America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A good, cooperative values based bank that adds value to society through agricultural lending and making attempts to give back to the communities it operates in. Benefits are not bad, work life balance is acceptable for a bank.

    Cons

Many inept, unqualified employees still in place from past acquisitions. Sr. management team is absolutely dysfunctional with a lack of accountability in many of the C suite offices while calling for accountability from the rest of the organization. Note to CEO, we can all see the dysfunction and lack of accountability in EMG.

    Advice to Management

Stop paying lip service to 100% accountability and lead by example.

I have been working at Rabobank America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CEO is very down to earth. He is a good leader and leads by example. Company benefits package is the best and needs to be considered when comparing totals salary vs other employers.

    Cons

Wrong people in certain middle management and senior management positions. No clear plan for advancement for credit or risk side of the bank. Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Do more with less is a common theme.

    Advice to Management

Examine the people you have Chosen as cultural champions. Some are great, but a few Senior and Executive VPs are poison and do not demonstrate the culture you are trying to create.

Retail, Mortgage, and Commercial need to be allowed to thrive, which cannot happen if you continue to limit them to the Ag footprint.

    Pros

Great benefits, beautiful office headquarters, decent compensation, staff is very active in the community, some very talented bankers work there.

    Cons

Flawed business model, executives do not get along with each other and engage in silly political fights instead of focusing on the business, ineffective leadership and risk controls, currently under a consent order from OCC for AML violations

    Advice to Management

    Get on the same page

    Pros

US entity of Dutch bank, branches only in California. Small size gives employees ability to have large impact on results. They're building a new culture of accountability and leadership. Very team oriented.

    Cons

They need to focus on doing fewer things, better. Current structure is a composite of the various banks they acquired over time, this creates too much complexity and makes it hard to move quickly and be flexible.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus and set goals. Hold people accountable.
