I have been working at RaceTrac Petroleum full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great company to work for..

    Cons

Some department hours are 24 hrs. I think they should have on call tech after hours instead of employees working crazy hours.

    Advice to Management

    Look within your team...

Come up with a solution to callouts so managers are not pulling doubles frequently.

I have been working at RaceTrac Petroleum full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

RaceTrac does a lot to engage employees, and seems to be on an upward swing as a company

    Cons

Corporate employee health benefits are terrible, and salaries don't seem to value employees sticking around (unless they're happy with the same pay forever)

    Advice to Management

Part of being a great place to work (which RT claims to strive towards) is have solid benefits from a salary and health benefit perspective. Focus on that more than providing goofy promotions/prizes at the office all the time. Work should be fun, but you should also get work done.

I have been working at RaceTrac Petroleum full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

RaceTrac offers great benefits and great pay. Advancement is performance based ,which always places you in the driver seat of your career, your professional and personal goals are always a priority to the people that lead the organization. As a family own business, you join a family not a company. One of the best and most important aspects of working here is the RaceTrac culture, as employees will do whatever it takes to take care of our guest and team members around us, at the same time we know that RaceTrac will do whatever it takes to take care us. You are encouraged to take risks and make mistakes, you learn from those mistakes and become a better person and performer. You are a witness of many successful stories of people that have started working in the stores and that now have higher responsibilities within the organization. If you are willing to work hard and care for the people around you, this is the place to be!

    Cons

Nothing to report at this point.

I have been working at RaceTrac Petroleum full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Weekly pay & direct deposit &benefits & fun work environment depending on your co workers and managers & somewhat flexible

    Cons

Not much flexibility, managers need to learn how to respect the associates more, have to work there longer than a year to get vacation days and sick days

    Advice to Management

Train new hires better, pay everyone better hourly rates we go through alot working there especially with the customers, more flexibility

I have been working at RaceTrac Petroleum full-time

    Pros

So many!! Our department is very laid but we work hard. RT really believes in work/life balance and it shows. Coworkers are so nice and everyone is willing to help. Free parking and RT is always having outings and little gifts for its employees (free ice cream, six flags, zoo and every employee gets free drinks at the stores.) Can't wait to move to the new building! Most importantly the casual dress code. Love wearing jeans to work everyday.

    Cons

The open concept takes some time to get used to it but its works for me.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work
