I worked at Racing Post full-time

    Pros

Some of the people who work there are great people

    Cons

Racing Post is driven by one thing, and one thing only - MONEY, nothing else. They can tell you they're all about the people who work there, and give you all the 21st century speil, but they really don't mean it If you're not doing anything that can make them more money, you're worth nothing to them

I have been working at Racing Post full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I have been at the Racing Post since the beginning of this year and it is one of the best companies I have worked for in my 20+ year career. The company is investing in what matters when it comes to technology and people. It is truly tangible on an everyday basis that Racing Post take employees wellbeing really seriously. The investments made to take Racingpost to the next level are made and there is a positive belief that it will pay off. It is a hidden gem and I truly * The investments in employee wellbeing * The leadership * The partners we work with * The new office * The clear vision for the company and the underpinning values * The size of the company makes it easy to move quickly

    Cons

    * The visibility outside of the company when it comes to what a great place this is to work at. * Possibly the speed of change * Career opportunities (this is being addressed)

I have been working at Racing Post full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The culture within technology feels like a great team-work with no existence of Ego since the last ego-maniacs have left the office with the new established culture weeding them out at first site. * People-centric * Long journey but on the right path with strong mid-term potential * Strong team composition across all levels * Office space and people atmosphere is great * absent politics across the company; impressive! * Plenty of growth opportunities in technology and product

    Cons

    * transition is painful so not a place for the light hearted

I have been working at Racing Post full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Real focus on the people. Task is important and pays the bills, but they know a fit, happy, cared for workforce is paramount to that. Change to a new, clean, fresh office space coupled with culture swing away from the old "news office bullying" style is really rewarding. Win as a team rather than fail as an individual. Proactive approach to mental health and staff well being is great to see. The company is investing. Even faced with difficult times (increased costs, industry uncertainty) they can see beyond the next six months and are investing to make sure the company is well placed in the digital market in 3+ yrs time.

    Cons

Still some of the older style attitudes around. They can impact the speed of change. Such tight links to the gambling industry are a concern. It can change the business outlook so quickly, which also makes for a worse perception from those outside. Actually within there is so much more we should be celebrating.

I have been working at Racing Post full-time

    Pros

Making a real effort to include all, regardless of department etc. Family-feel, united environment

    Cons

Behind the curve with the digital era having spent so long being newspaper-focused still an element of newspaper-first which is prohibiting the future improvements

I have been working at Racing Post full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, very keen to improve and evolve, very ambitious, no blame culture. Wide vareity of roles within the company and a fun business to work around. Sports, gambiing, tech, editorial is a great mix.

    Cons

A nagging feeling that the overall drive for the company is now shifted too far towards 'make us more saleable' than 'make better content / output' is present. Constant drive to keep everyone involved and informed is often actually not that helpful as people are encouraged to feel like they have a say, but really they often don't. There is a conflict in this ethos there and it can grate at times. The message often seems to wobble between 'we are hugely successful' and 'we are a fragile business' and that is not helpful to the majority who really are just looking to get on with the job in hand. To be fair this in a large part due to the industry itself - which is by its very nature is fairly transient with companies coming and going.
