They pay for bowl sponsorships instead of keeping valuable employees around
May 1, 2023 - Technical Instructor in Savannah, GARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I was rarely (if ever) contacted about work outside of work hours. My immediate group of coworkers, and lower levels of management were extremely good at their jobs, and wonderful to work with. Pay was reasonable
Cons
They don't actually care about you as an employee (not really a surprise for any contracting company to be fair), but they would do dog and pony shows frequently where various levels of management would show up to pat you on the back and pretend they knew who you were and cared about you. Our contract was terminated by the government, when we still had 2 years remaining on it because they decided to have military-ran instruction. Luckily for us, our government representative was very open and honest about the situation and helped give us time to find new jobs, because she knew we would still have funding for another few months. Radiance Technologies on the other hand (at least above the direct management level), did nothing to keep their employees informed or employed. I can't complain about them not trying to keep me around, as I had only been on the contract for 2 years, however, I had multiple coworkers who had been working for Radiance, on the same contract, for over 10 years, and Radiance basically said "sorry, there's nothing we can do to find you a job", and showed them the door. To really slap us in the face, two months later we found out they were sponsoring the Independence Bowl football game.

Mar 23, 2023 - Contractor Special Security Officer in Huntsville, ALRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great people to work with. Everyone genuinely cares about each other success. Company leadership does an excellent job of keeping employees informed on what is going on with the company and where the company is going. Tons of opportunities to learn and grow.
Cons
No sick leave/time off. You have to use PTO if you get sick.

Great people, terrible leadership
Aug 25, 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Huntsville, ALRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
As an employee-owned company, Radiance attracts talented, driven, and highly cooperative people. The majority of people throughout the organization are deeply devoted to working hard and helping their coworkers whenever possible. The company offers great health and retirement benefits.
Cons
The senior leadership of Radiance is highly toxic. The CEO in particular works diligently to create and maintain a culture of fear, acquiescence, and lack of professional boundaries. Dissenting opinions are met with swift punitive measures, public humiliation, or termination. The attrition rate at the senior management and executive level is exceptionally high. During my time at Radiance, such senior leaders would be working one day and gone the next. No warning, no explanation provided to their teams, much less the company at large. This occurred with 6 different senior or C-suite positions in less than two years. This toxic atmosphere springs primarily from the long-time CEO who regularly gives talks to the company about values, care for employees, and "doing what is right". Behind closed doors, however, he acts in a consistent opposition to the stated company values. Hostile to differing opinions, verbally combative and unprofessional, and heavily self-focused, he communicates with his actions that his priorities are profit over people, and control over collaboration.
