I worked at RadiantBlue Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people in the office are good to work with and the management is very approachable to discuss ideas on how to improve the work product.

    Cons

Lack of promotional opportunity and long hours don't create the best of work/home balances but it is not as bad as other companies that I have worked at.

    Advice to Management

Create avenues for strong, contributing employees to move up in the organization and be open and discuss with employees about the mergers with other companies that may change the locations of their jobs.

I worked at RadiantBlue Technologies (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Like the people what I worked with.

    Cons

    When they run out of money they will come up one day and fire you. Tell you are a low performer and you have done something wrong. They will then move the money they were paying you to the program that needs help. The firing thing that they do is on going but they could just tell you the truth and lay you off and not say you have mess up;

    Advice to Management

Sell the company now like you want and make that dollar. Replace the management.

I worked at RadiantBlue Technologies full-time

    Pros

Great employees in some support functions, decent benefits & company sponsored events

    Cons

Terrible leadership!! Lack of clear strategic direction for the company and very little to no communications with employees. Senior managers are only interested in profits. There is no real performance review process so you won't get a raise after you start. Professional development is nonexistent. Trust me, don't go to work there.

I worked at RadiantBlue Technologies full-time

    Pros

People are nice. Great place if all live and breath GIS and don't mind being at the NGA

    Cons

Purchased by a consortium. Now all employees are assets. Formerly customer/mission focused, now a butts in seats mentality.
Used to something special. Now just another contractor.

I worked at RadiantBlue Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay, great office, great coworkers. I definitely enjoyed my time there at the beginning when the company was first growing. I got to contribute to processes that helped the team. They also have many group activities to encourage teamwork.

    Cons

Near the end, I was losing a lot of motivation because there was little to no instruction from higher up despite me asking for more work to do. Also, I was given no clear deadlines for existing tasks. I prefer having a clearly defined schedule.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your employees when they want clearer information on what tasks are available and when tasks are due. Also, getting more feedback from end users would be very rewarding.

    Pros

Most of the people were reasonably nice. You'll learn a lot initially, but promotions don't come quickly (or at all), so you'll plateau and need to find another job to keep improving your skillset.

    Cons

Lackluster raises. 1% is the norm. Negotiate *hard* for your salary, then plan to leave after a few years when market rate passes you by.

Workaholic culture. People work long hours, and there is no overtime pay. I'm not talking short bursts of effort to meet a deadline, I'm talking constant, everlasting 'crisis' mode.

The culture is quite cliquish. Nice if you're in, I guess.

Based on what I'd seen while working at RB and conversations with my coworkers, I was left with the impression that I joined RadiantBlue just as it began transitioning from 'a great place to work' to 'just another butts-in-seats defense contractor.'
"Gee Bob, all that stuff you *used* to do sounds great."

    Advice to Management

I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.

I have been working at RadiantBlue Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for growth. Highly technical staff. Excellent benefits. A company who speaks truth to power. Family-friendly and good to working parents.

    Cons

Company has grown quickly and is suffering from some growing pains but in this economy it is not a bad problem to have. They need to lock down proccesses sooner rather than later too keep up with the grow and hiring rate

    Advice to Management

Management needs to focus on hiring more junior staff and creating a solid business capture model.
