I have been working at Radical Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Back before they were bought by Vivendi, this company was really starting to get away from the "me too" mentality and focusing on original games. Plenty of dedicated developers and awesome dev tools (the Gym)

    Cons

Each team worked with different tools making it hard to build on previous tech. Way too much overtime and a tendency to let senior people go at the end of crunch.

    Advice to Management

Very few people left there as Activision did a good job killing a good studio

I worked at Radical Entertainment part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work environment, good co-workers, interesting games. Usual perks of working at a tech company. Great location in an interesting building in nice city.

    Cons

The lack of direction in management and some strange design decisions are what led to the company not making it's own games and doing in-house work for management.

  10. "Smart co-workers, excellent projects, great benefits"

I worked at Radical Entertainment full-time

    Pros

Very smart and professional co-workers, fully stocked kitchen, nice offices, good opportunities for career advancement and professional development

    Cons

Seems more stable now, but there have been rounds of layoffs over the years. They are much smaller than when I worked there these days, but people I know there still seem to enjoy it.

    Pros

Radical hires the best talent available. Tons of great and knowledgeable people to work with everyday. Great working environment and location. Excellent perks and benefits.

    Cons

Seems to have difficulty keeping the best talent available, especially after the merger with Activision. Office politics and a few bad apples has changed the culture of the workplace from something amazing to something pedestrian.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in home grown talent. Hold people accountable for their actions and decisions. Grow up, this isn't high school anymore.
