    Pros

Excellent benefits package, quality co-workers, quality work environment. I have developed friends for life there. Management is very supportive of you, and will communicate key items to you that are essential to the day to day operation of the store. In addition, I am a keyholder and deposit associate. Even though I am not compensated for these extra responsibilities, it still feels good to have a sense of accomplishment. Radioshack is commissioned, which makes selling cell phones quite profitable if one finds a knack for it (such as myself.) If you got the potential and the drive, Radioshack has the opportunities.

    Cons

Less compensation than comparable places of employment, less traffic than big box retailers

    Advice to Management

    Change advancement paths slightly

    Pros

All of my co-workers and managers were very helpful in learning about the many product we offered and how to use the computer system.

    Cons

There was way too many training videos and worksheets. It took me about 3 weeks to get through all the training materials because I had to keep stopping to help customers in between.

    Advice to Management

RadioShack was a very nice company to work for, the manager and other employees were very nice. I think RadioShack is doing a good job of letting people know they have expanded their products they offer.

    Keep up on all metrics.

    Pros

This is the easiest place to get promoted but you need to dedicate alot of time and be try friendly with the DM! Great benifits with wireless phone.

    Cons

Nothing ever enought and they don't pay overtime!

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Julian day This company used to to pay alot more but they change the pay structure and they don't give awards out for a company that not in debt they aren't spending the money on there employees

    Pros

Work life balance is great! Real people! Stay up to date with cell phones. Great cell phone plan. Great discount.

    Cons

Hours may be cut on the performance of the store. No matter what the condition. P.O.S not the greatest.

    Advice to Management

Nothing radio shack can do, but if they was to have Tmobile change the program it would be great. At&t system is ok, but if the system was more like Sprint life would be golden for both the company and the employee.

    Pros

Always in the know of cutting edge technology
    Laid back workplace
    Hourly <3 and commission
Ridicolously low employee cell phone plan (att, sprint and tmobile)
Perform good in sales and managers will offer to enroll you in the manager in training course
Competent person that knows how he and she are getting paid can pretty much plan out their check if they sell everything that pays back

    Cons

-Some managers are weasels and will force you to sell service plans to customers that really clearly do not want them
-Employee merchandise discount is nothing but a bad joke (you'll see)
-during holiday season, you are the downright property of radio shack. if you love black friday you can pretty much forget that now you will be in radio shack for that whole day 5am to maybe closing

    Advice to Management

Bring back the employee merchandise discount stop being cheap..

This review is coming from a person that was there to just sell and sell I did not give into politics you can get that at any job..

-great products and prices compared to other stores
i truly have had a lot of fun thus far as store manager. If your a great sales person go to
radioshack you will climb up the ladders fast!

    Cons

-Unfortunately we aren't a destination location we are a convenience location.
-out with the old in with the new mentality for employees who aren't performing
    -lots of hours
    -time off is hard
-mix between life and work is hard here

    Advice to Management

bring verizon to radioshack. that will get us to the next level!

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at Radio Shack is the opportunity of making a decent amount of money via commision sales.

    Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Radio Shack is that at certain locations the management and store up keep is terrible.

    Advice to Management

I think that more managers should listen to the employee's ideas on methods that would attract more customers into the store.

    Pros

You always get to experience the new technology, good pay for the amount of work you put in, sales bonuses (yearly and monthly)

    Cons

Likes to focus on one thing a month, while putting focus on one thing in the month they get mad because you didnt focus on a different thing. Sort of unorganized.

    Advice to Management

Less micromanaging, let the store manager run his store and be responsible for all aspects of the store. If he or she fails to hit goal or expectations then micromanage.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    Good development
If you know how to grow your store then you will make some great bonuses, raises, and salary
    Decent health benefits
Pay is better than before( only heard stores of the past)

    Cons

Focuses tend change every few weeks and when you get good at one they change to another point. It does get harder to move up from the DM level to the RSD level but there are fewer positions the higher up you go.

    Advice to Management

Keep building you workforce and promote an environment that people will like to work in. Every store should have an assistant manager, this would reduce the shrinkage and theft in the store.
