    I worked at RadioShack part-time

    Pros

It was an entry level minimum wage job

    Cons

All of the products customers wanted were in a corporate warehouse. No one wanted to come in to the store and pay to wait to receive products in the mail

    Advice to Management

A retail store for mostly web only products is just crazy.

    I worked at RadioShack part-time

    Pros

Even in the last few years, when the company's performance was clearly beginning to slide, it was still a fairly pleasant place to work.

    Cons

Radioshack had us doing way to much for way to little of money and still went out of business.

    Advice to Management

Good luck in the remaining stretch. Keep pursuing internet sales

    I worked at RadioShack part-time

    Pros

    - Great commission from sales.
    - Initial training was helpful.

    Cons

    - Commission depends on the region that you are in, so if you are working at a region where Radioshack is obsolete, chances are you might get a low check on payday.

    Advice to Management

    - Constant training to staff.

I worked at RadioShack part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy work, good customers. Most of the customers who walk in to RadioShack know what they need to buy so it is easier to assist.

    Cons

    Very limited full time positions.

I have been working at RadioShack full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I had A lot of fun working there because I hired all the right people sometime for the wrong reasons though

    Cons

You have to make so many metrics every single week and also have to do a ton of tasks. I am this is the way it is now-a-days with many companies. But, Radioshack had us managers doing way to much for way to little of money and still went out of business.

I worked at RadioShack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to a good amount of consumer electronics and friendly coworkers.

    Cons

The pay was not great, nor was the management. The failing of the company forced unrealistic expectations of sales on workers.

I worked at RadioShack part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At my store, we had six people on the staff. There were two full-time people: Store Manager (40hr/wk) and Assistant Manager (32-36hr/wk). Then four part-time (4-24hr/wk). We got paid well when we sold phones and it was easy retail work.

    Cons

The base pay was minimum wage ($7.50/hr) and we would get 2-percent of everything in the store that we sold. Plus, we would get "bonuses" for selling Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T contract and non-contract phones. There would be contests for bonuses on batteries, protection plans, clearance and other RadioShack items. Made for a very competitive environment with a couple of co-workers. Then, RadioShack had just filed for bankruptcy and people were fearing for their jobs and stores.

    Advice to Management

At the time, pushing contests was too much. It was optional to compete.
