    I worked at RadioShack full-time

    Pros

Discounts were great and the workplace culture was great.

    Cons

Pay was low and low job security.

    Advice to Management

Consistency is key with this company. The company changed cultures far too often for anyone to grow.

I worked at RadioShack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very relaxed environment when you were doing well and your manager was chill. Co-Workers had each other's backs and overall was a generally nice inside community among the salesmen and managers.

    Cons

Corporate had their head up their arse 100% of the time. My regional management spoke broken english and thought we were selling poorly because we did our jobs poorly. No foot traffic, ludicrously inflated prices (30 bucks for a 6 foot hdmi, 5 bucks for a 4 pack of bootleg chinese batteries that last as long as dollar store batteries. The list goes on.) and horrible sales goals and quotas. If we didn't have at least 10% of their garbage batteries sold in ratio to all other sales, we would get called up and chastised for not doing our jobs. And don't get me started on the Ncredibles. Sure they're okay, but for 130 I would expect much more from them. Not comfortable, embarrassing to wear and not as good as they market them. People want easy access to Beats, not some cheap knockoff. I'm glad they're going bankrupt but sorry for everyone who lost their jobs, but also glad these guys who have been here for 5+ years are finally moving on with their lives. It is NOT worth working here for longer than 6 months and it's not worth trying to climb up the market ladder when the stress for anyone under a higher management position.

    Advice to Management

To both of my former managers, I wish you both the best and you guys were awesome. Hope you find a new job.

I worked at RadioShack part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Slow, not many customers.
    - 50% Employee discount.
    - Smart, nice Coworkers.

    Cons

    - Excessive sales pressure, you will be told to up sell up to five things to each customer at the register and if you fail they will get very upset with you.
    - Terrible micromanagement.
    - Overpriced products.
    - Many stores closing (Again) .
    - Low pay.
    - Too much responsibility put on associates. For example, my store had no manager for over a month and the associates were made to do the managers job for that time.

    Advice to Management

    Liquidate.

    Pros

Great discounts on product. Fun contests. Getting to work with coolest electronics. Helping people with their technology needs and wants.

    Cons

Low pay. Short staffing. Sometimes working very long days without a break because of few hours given to operate the store on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Keep new product coming in. Learn from your mistakes. Keep the store personnel informed of changes coming. Increase payplans. When it comes to staff, you get what you pay for.
