I worked at RadioShack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

you are able to move up within the company, you are in control of the checks you make(hour+commission), flexible work schedule, great co workers, you do get recognized for the work you put in with in the company.

    Cons

company focus are on the wrong sales items, turnover rate is very high, they are one tract minded they try to push on certain items but ignore the sales that is driving money.

    Advice to Management

listen more to all of your employees not just managers, and general managers. Some employees don't want to move up within the company because of the extended amount of pressure you put on managers with little or no recognition for the drive they have excelled in.

I worked at RadioShack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I can't really give any pros to working at RadioShack since they all are either closed or are closing.

    Cons

Everything was a downside to working there. I went through 6 District Managers in my 3 years, two or three CEO's, Lance Armstrong, THE SHACK. It is no wonder they went bankrupt, they couldn't stop spending their money on dumb ideas and people who were not worth the paycheck.

    Advice to Management

What advice is there to give? You went bankrupt, bad Radioshack, bad. Tell your people not to spend millions rebranding the whole company just to find out that you wasted your money.

    Pros

    - Slow, not many customers.
    - 50% Employee discount.
    - Smart, nice Coworkers.

    Cons

    - Excessive sales pressure, you will be told to up sell up to five things to each customer at the register and if you fail they will get very upset with you.
    - Terrible micromanagement.
    - Overpriced products.
    - Many stores closing (Again) .
    - Low pay.
    - Too much responsibility put on associates. For example, my store had no manager for over a month and the associates were made to do the managers job for that time.

    Advice to Management

    Liquidate.
