I have been working at RadioShack full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You get to work and train the employees. 95% of the customer base was great. Having discounts on electronic and off my cell phone was great.

    Cons

The management up top would micro manage everything. They lack no sense of a business turnaround. Low morale before I left.

    Advice to Management

Please restructure again up top. You still have some bad guys working there.

    Pros

Many customers are very happy that Radio Shack is still around. They come in looking for the items they have found for decades.

    Cons

Many customers seek internet pricing and the convienance of a corner electronic store. Many of the items they seek ate no longer sold. The current owners of Radio Shack are dishonest voiding vacation balances and cutting pay.

    Advice to Management

Do not treat employees like robots. Share your hedge fund billions instead of cutting pay and benefits. Stock the stores with product.

I have been working at RadioShack (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Discount, under new ownership (too early to tell if that's positive), new product assortment, remodeled stores, small dedicated customer base.

    Cons

Zero labor budget after restructuring. The majority of store are open 11 hours per day/7 days a week, and budgeted on average 96 hours (including manager) for payroll.

    Advice to Management

Allow more than 3-4 associates per store, to allow for work/life balance. Vacations, illness, flexibility - these are all things needed. Stop running your stores on a skeleton crew. It cannot succeed. Listen to your employees.

Radio Shack has a lot of learning opportunities if you take the time to seek them out

I worked at RadioShack part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours CAN be flexible if you're going to school. There is an employee discount. You get experience in the wireless industry

    Cons

Management does not know what they are doing. Every problem with the company they blame on associates and there is no accountability in upper management.

    Advice to Management

I would say listen to your employees, but that would have been more practical 5 years ago. You have honestly reached a point of no return. Enjoy bankruptcy.

Just follow everything by the books
