I have been working at Radius Innovation & Development

    Pros

Radius has a fantastic culture, with a very passionate team. Working here is a lot of fun, and the projects are exciting and challenging. There is a ton of opportunity if you know what you want, and aren't afraid to try

    Cons

The travel policy isn't great for a consultancy

    Advice to Management

Go after internal programs with the same dedication and rigor as client projects.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Radius Innovation & Development full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The work is fast-paced, fun, stimulating, challenging, and rewording. The team is passionate, talented, encouraging, dedicated, and has a great sense of humor. There is a culture of support and sincere drive to help clients achieve their goals. Culture is viewed as core, business outlook is strong, and office design is inspiring.

    Cons

Not a good place for people who want clear parameters all the time, who wait for instructions, or who can't successfully grapple with seemingly mutually-exclusive requirements. The work can be grinding and stressful at times, and rising above it requires either immense intrinsic drive, ability to draw energy from the team around you, or a capacity for storing-up satisfaction during the highs to sustain you through... the lows.

    Advice to Management

Be more open (at times) about the challenges we're all facing. Explain that you know the demands on us are daunting, and sometimes border on impossible, but that you think we're up to the task. While failing to perform is not acceptable, it helps to hear that achieving our targets would be a remarkable achievement that few teams could attain.

I have been working at Radius Innovation & Development

    Pros

Small tight organization that is motivated by performance and WOWING the client. Projects are always changing so there is always something new going on. More rapid career development exposure than at a typical company. Team has their heart in the game - its not just a job. Clients count on our expertise to be successful.

    Cons

Small organization with limited management bandwidth and limited support services. Client engagement process is stressful with limited management support. IT and TP (toilet paper) are unreliable. Need to cover the gaps yourself. General lack of respect for employees.

    Advice to Management

Support the PM's with an account management structure that handles the higher level financial circus that goes with some clients. Run a professional office with working equipment and systems.

I worked at Radius Innovation & Development

    Pros

The senior and junior level designers, engineers and human factor specialists are all really nice and easy to get along with with

    Cons

They insist that they are in the Boston "Metro Area" and that is a lie. Far away from the city in a tiny town. The upper management is not very open minded and the place is full of white guys in polo t shirts.

    Pros

Large corporation with many possibilities in terms of career advancement. You will have the structure of a billion dollar corporation. You can tap into many channels to seek help when need to.

    Cons

Although being in a large corporation is a pro factor, but it also hinders the typical agility of a small design consultancy. The typical process from a small firm with speed doesn't apply here.
