    I worked at Railex full-time

    Pros

Payed weekly, Receiving team looked after each other, helped each other out regularly.

    Cons

lots of overtime, too much sometimes, 10+hours week, all mandatory, which can mean working until 2am. lots of heavy lifting, not so much the weight 50lbs. but constantly. Job is extremely physical. Pay is way below state average for warehouse work. Huge amount of turnover. some of the most skilled people had only been there for 8-10 weeks.

    Advice to Management

Invest in learning how to retain employees. Pay people what the industry average is not 50% less.

    Pros

None - not a single pro for this company.

    Cons

Railex has been bought out and is closing its doors. Management does not tell anyone anything. One plant came to work and doors bolted shut. Wrong. You don't mess with people's livelihood.

    Advice to Management

Communication with your employees is the only right thing to do. Andy Pollak is a disgusting human being. He did wrong by a lot of employees.

I have been working at Railex full-time

    Pros

decent coworkers. overtime adds up. huge warehouse is visually impressive

    Cons

11 dollars an hour is pretty for for a forklift job, especially for the responsibility railex demands. there are currently 2 shifts working from 6 - 6, mon-fri. when employees seem burnt out management promises easy days/ going home "early" to raise spirits, then "oops , looks like 5 more orders just came in, looks like another 12+ hour night".
about 80% of new hires quit within two weeks when they realize the promises they were given during orientation were all just rhetoric to get people work hard for poor wages.

    Advice to Management

take some time off, get a hobby, and remember that without the people who man the warehouse, none of you would be getting paid. and quality work comes from people who feel their extra effort makes a difference, and that they too can benefit by doing the right things (cleaning damage, proper warehousing).

    Pros

Railex hires really great people. It's like an extended family.

    Cons

It's a mans world here, so if you're female don't expect to move up.

    Advice to Management

    Treat all employees equally
