    Pros

The pay is good and competitive and the work is ok.

    Cons

The hours can be long and hard and at times it seems the company is trying to get too much done with too few people.

    Advice to Management

Keep it flexible and reward the artists

I have been working at Rainmaker Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Rainmaker has been around for a long time, so:
    - Their pipeline is very solid
    - The work is quite chilled and relaxed
    - People are very cool and easy going
    - You get free chocolate milk, coffee, milk for breakfast
    - Food if you stay late
    - Beer gatherings every Friday
    - and overall just a cool vibe.

Also, the project I'm working on is pretty cool and just lots of fun.

    Cons

You don't get payed for OT, but... you also don't get very much of that ;)

I have been working at Rainmaker Entertainment full-time

    Pros

Relaxed Work Environment. Great Work Culture. Friendly Co-Workers.

    Cons

Focusing on the wrong "innovations". Relaxed work environment causes senior artists to be reluctant to change. Behind on some of the latest animation tools which could help overall efficiency.

    Advice to Management

Actually implement positive changes that artists suggest, because listening to them can only go so far until they realize that you won't do it. Try to focus more on the story and writing of your IP's, rather than other trendy concepts to make a show/movie.

I worked at Rainmaker Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One of the best company cultures in Vancouver. They really put their focus on the well being of the employees. I had no OT for 2 years of working there, the people are amazing. It is a good place to start.

    Cons

There were challenging projects, but not enough and leadership training is needed in some departments. Some sups need to be more open minded towards their team and need to develop more soft skills. They need to listen more to technically skilled people who really want to help improving but got ignored.

I have been working at Rainmaker Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great proprietary pipeline
    - Very experienced crew
    - Rewards loyal employees with continued work
    - Relaxed atmosphere

    Cons

    - Occasional unpaid overtime
    - Contracts are on the short side
    - Tight deadlines
    - Vacation or sick time will put you way behind, as you're expected to fully meet your deadlines even if you take time off

    Advice to Management

Allow people to take vacation time without needing to work 80 hours without overtime pay per week leading up to the vacation in order to break even.

I have been working at Rainmaker Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Large, diverse, and experienced teams.

    - Insanely experienced directors.
    - Friendly to new animators who work hard.
    - Honest and open upper management, or at least more so than other studios.

    Cons

    - Contracts inevitably expire, so you have to leave at some point.

    Advice to Management

    Just keep the work coming!

    - Spacious, big and comfortable place to work at
    - Pretty good location (access to food & beach)
    - Friendly people, more like family here

    Cons

    - Inflexible hours (they really want you to work from 9-6)
    - Unpaid Overtime (though they don't do overtime usually but compensate it with dinner)
    - Payment a bit low as compared with other animation studio

    Advice to Management

    - Should have paid artist the amount that they deserve.
    - It's more respectful to pay an artist overtime amount than just giving dinner
