Pay Grade should be harder for the work being asked i know its a fast food restaurant but skill should be awarded

    Advice to Management

Know your strong crew members and your week crew members reward them with small raises at a time especially if we been there for over a year

I have been working at Raising Cane's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Holidays off
    Manager gifts
    Benefits/4O1K
    Fun work environment
    Crew parties twice a year
    Crew appreciation
    Uniform allocations
    Great training program

    Cons

    Follow up at each restaurant
    Not holding GM accountable
Overtime not allowed unless they need you (BS)
    Facilities management
Not enough ongoing training and support for non-salary managers.

    Advice to Management

Follow up with restaurants. Make sure that salary managers are supporting as they need to. Provide more incentive to grow with company. Hold everyone to the same standard. Make sure staffing pros are accurate and hold salary managers more accountable when they aren't. Shift managers get the short end of the stick too often and it gets discouraging after time.

I worked at Raising Cane's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get holidays off and they are family friendly. It's fast pace, however easy to get the hang of it.

    Cons

The management was horrible. They were not qualified and they were rude. A couple of them were actually not even close to to handling anything the correct way

    Advice to Management

They should be careful who they put on their management staff

I worked at Raising Cane's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers, great culture(in theory), abiltity to spend money to keep the operation top notch. OK benefits

    Cons

As the company is growing it is becoming too much of a large corporate culture. Used to be fun at every corner, not so much any more. They are hiring too many executives that don't fit the original culture and try to change it. Most executives are great, easy going, smart leaders but not all of them. If you are unlucky enough to get in the wrong department Canes is not what it is cracked up to be.

    Advice to Management

Go back to Todds original vision that made Canes great and get rid of the decision makers that don't subscribe.

    Pros

-good pay, quickly can get raises if you have a good work ethic
-easy to learn job since the menu is very limited
-somewhat of a variety of duties to choose from (up front, drive thru, put food in boxes, make toast)

    Cons

-can be understaffed which makes the shift stressful
    -customers can be annoying (lol)
-sometimes the managers don't make the best decisions

    Advice to Management

listen to other crew members who have been there for a while and take their advice as well.

I worked at Raising Cane's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun, engaging crewmembers with a fast paced environment make a simple and often medial job for high school and college students fun and entertaining.

    Cons

Unfortunately, there a lot of cons. Disorganized Management team who screw you over with scheduling despite knowing your availability. The general manager at the store I worked at was selfish and would regularly not show up for his shifts. Also thought I was selfish for wanting to go to college?? Cause that makes sense.

I have been working at Raising Cane's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's not your average fast food place. If you work hard you do get recognized. They will work with your schedule. They offer insurance, COMPETITIVE PAY, and a lot of growth with this company including a lot of community involvement and annual company picnics and parties for major holidays. This company has me super impressed. There is a lot more but I'm not sure if I can say it here or not. Also opportunities to travel and or move up to corporate. Some of the work is hard, like closing, but it's not unrealistic. Cane's revolves around customer service, quality, and cleanliness, which is a lot more than I can say for previous restaurants that I've worked for. Just remeber speed comes with time.

    Cons

They do hire a lot of minors or kids in school that give up their shifts a lot and don't take the job seriously, but you can always pick up those hours if needed and they have over time every once in a while, but would rather you not have it.

    Advice to Management

My store is amazing and I think is a great over all cane experience. Unfortunately, I have met other people from other stores and can say sadly that some really good people who have been great value of the company have left due to unprofessional management and or unfair treatment. That being said I'm sure that's happened everywhere. Also it would be great if your management would help out when needed to maintain shift standards in the stores and or follow the same qualities standards set and preached to is lower workers. A lot of them sit in the office. Maybe when you have to make sure employees are really certified or retrained on their work you should do that for oms, gms, and managers a like.
