    I worked at Raley's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As this is still a family-lead company, you can still find a lot of those values still in the company, despite its size. A lot of employees have been with Raley's for more than 20 years, so there is longevity.

    Cons

Totally disorganized inventories make for a lot of write-offs which means money going down the drain. The "family" aspect doesn't apply nearly as much to new hires, simply because of the size of the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to newer people. They may help you!

I have been working at Raley's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work with small crew....graveyard hours.....no customers to deal with so easier to get freight thrown.....health benefits pretty fast if full time

    Cons

Many of the courtesy clerks are extremely lazy....throw product where ever they please if they cannot locate it's home....not nearly enough pay for the job our night crew performs....other employees that constantly complain about everything and everyone, alot of gossip

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and take a good hard look at who actually is working and doing their job, or doing things to make it look as if they are working....get tired of going behind other people NOT doing their job!

    Cons

It's retail you don't have much a life for doing a lot for yourself. The hours are always different. However after a year you do get a week vacation time.

    Advice to Management

Management does let you know if you need to tweek something. For some departments a little more involvement would be appreciated other wise they do a great job

    I worked at Raley's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I really think Raley's is a great company to work for. I worked for a large store in Nevada; I got full-time hours right away (which can be rare in certain places) and I received benefits within four months of working. The hours are really great too, the stores close at 10 PM and we all walked out pretty much by then. My managers were all really great people, kind and helpful, and the company did a lot of little things to emphasize how they felt about their employees - food and sweets in the breakroom, discount tickets to in-town events, things like that. Those things are really nice.

    Cons

The biggest con to this job was honestly the pay. I was doing twice the work of my non-deli counterparts, and yet I started making the same as them. I eventually got bumped up, but it was only a couple cents more and I was still making less than $9 an hour at an incredibly grueling job. It didn't seem worth it most days. I understand a lot of this had to do with the state regulations against unionizing, but still worth mentioning as it was a pretty big con.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes, it really feels like minimum wage is simply a company telling you "I'd pay you less if I legally could!" I know Raley's doesn't feel that way about their employees, in fact, I know how much they really value their employees. A pay increase would really emphasize that. Other than that, keep up the good work!
