I worked at Ralph Lauren part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

An overall inviting atmosphere for all walks of life and with general room for growth if you are among the ambitious few.
Scheduling was for the most part fair and considerate towards college-aged workers.
Pay seems to be on the better said in comparison to most other retail companies.

    Cons

    Management will vary.
Hours can be tough to come by if it's the off-holiday season.

I worked at Ralph Lauren full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    PTO, benefits, discount, challenging work

    Cons

The culture is very negative. Corporate HR is making huge efforts to change it but the individual groups are not applying it. Years of restructuring has changed the mindset to that of survival, which fosters finger pointing, diminishing others wins, tons of red tape, and lack of collaboration. Many are unmotivated and feel undervalued.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing so much on tasks and projects and focus on your people. Hire great LEADERS who can motivate and inspire and make people feel valued. Lots and lots of good managers who can lead tasks or projects, but not many actual leaders. There is a tremendous difference.
