I worked at Ralph Lauren full-time

    Pros

    Reputable Company Name
    Company Discounts
    Some good People/Talent

    Cons

    Poor Senior Management
No Trust among immediate teams or cross functional teams
Horrible communication between senior management and lower management
    Little opportunity for advancement
    Salary is not competitive
No employees incentive for a job well done
Raises and Promotions are not truly based on employee merit
Over all company culture is based on hierarchy and favoritism
    No work Life balance
The open door policy isn't really open
The flexible scheduling isn't really flexible

Almost all perks are "at managers discretion", So if your manager has no discretion you're out of luck! example: If an employee is dedicated; works long hours in the office, barely takes lunch, only to go home and work from home as well, is never late to work but comes in super early DAILY, and is a good team player... they should be allowed to leave the office early with out being docked a 1/2 day

    Advice to Management

    Get it together!

I have been working at Ralph Lauren full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Reputable brand, good discount, some great talent who want to see the company do well

    Cons

Not competitive financially, limited growth opportunity, no respect, loyalty by employees not rewarded, disorganization among different divisions working in silos. No communication from senior management leads to a lack of trust in our leadership, in addition to compensation of senior team according to our annual 10-K reports, specifically the significant settlement of our previous CEO whilst lower and mid level employees wait three months for seasonal bonuses, with no communication as to when it will be paid. Compensation of senior team perhaps should be reevaluated by the board. Company culture also hierarchical - strategy top down, rather than ideas inspired from all levels of the organization.

    Advice to Management

Become better at communication! Some members of senior management team have been there for too long and have become complacent/employees view them as insincere. You have some very talented employees who have been dedicated to the company for years whose loyalty has not been rewarded - become more competitive financially relative to the industry or you risk losing that talent. The reasons talented employees are leaving have nothing to do with the tough financial times or frequent change the company has gone through, you need to take care of your people and make them feel respected and appreciated. I believe Patrice will do great things for our organization, hopefully none of the existing leadership resists the necessary changes.

    Pros

Approval for certain benefits that favor the company, will always get approved.

It’s a family like environment where you feel like your at home everyday.

    Cons

When it comes to helping the associates, your dropped like a bad habit, pushed in the corner so no one can see you to collect your benefits.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your associates. They will mean the world to you.
