I worked at Ralph Lauren part-time

    Pros

Working at the upscale RL like in the Galleria Houston you get paid a commission and there is allot of high $ sales so lots of money to be paid. The outlet is the opposite, completely different. It's hourly and at least you can pick your hours

    Cons

commission sales is VERY competitive and employees working there for a long time don't want you waiting on 'their' customers. I even had to give my time and sales to the so called claimed customers of other employees. Outlet pays low and folding and removing from dressing room is all you do it seems except stand at cash register and ring endless sales

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees, be fair and make it fun

I worked at Ralph Lauren full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful store, high quality merchandise, great design, positive team environment, wonderful to dress in the brand and promote the lifestyle brand across merchandise categories

    Cons

High price points versus compensation, creates a challenge to dress in the brand and keep a fashion forward current season look

    Advice to Management

Discount the merchandise more to staff and increase pay for selling a high end fashion line

I have been working at Ralph Lauren full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I like the CEO's "Way Forward" plan, i really think that Ralph Lauren will continue to succeed in the next few years. The environment in the Greensboro office is relax and friendly.

    Cons

Communication still needs to be worked on and HR needs to be more transparent. RL does not pay as much as competitors but its not bad money.

    Advice to Management

Better the training programs for some departments. Continue the Career Advancement courses.
