    Competitive Pay. Most of all, excellent benefits.

    Cons

    Can't pick your schedule or vacation. Say goodbye to weekends for at least 20 years. Everyone starts working nights.

    Good starter job

    Aug 17, 2022 - Crew Member in Northridge, CA

    Pros

    Jack of all trades position; you help pick up slack wherever the store is lacking;

    Cons

    Micro management setting; many supervisors on the job do not synchronize and communicate duties with the others. Will call you in on your day off if you let them; a slippery slope.

    Incompetent Management

    Aug 10, 2022 - Courtesy Clerk

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    -Some sincerely nice people working there. -Being able to grab groceries after work is marginally convenient.

    Cons

    -Upper management (FEM, to store manager, and regional and above) does not care about people in the slightest, and will seek to make their lives easier in any way at the expense of people below them -The hours are inconsistent to the point that scheduling your life is a challenge, especially considering they don't actually respect your availability when scheduling you anyway -Incredibly poor employee retention, due to all of the named things that make working here unbearable. -Scheduling is incredibly poor, due to incompetence and the aforementioned revolving door of coworkers. Ignoring actual number of employees, management schedules in the most asinine way possible, and that's usually just so they have the most help possible when they have to be at the store, not always when it's most needed. Management is catty, rude, and childish. Go out sick for any period? You'll likely come back to find that you've been scheduled for your least desired shift as a punishment. -On top of all of that, pay hasn't appropriately scaled with the minimum wage. While before, making $2-3 above minimum wage was a real redeeming factor, it's now either at minimum, or $1 above it depending on your time there. I'm honestly likely forgetting things, but I cannot stress enough how little I recommend working here. If I could do it over, I'd rather have moved to Texas to dig pipelines than have taken this job.
