I have been working at Ramapo College of New Jersey part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, willing to accommodate the work hours, and easy to work as a student. Good for somebody needing a side job, or for the busy student.

    Cons

Department is grossly underfunded causing same issues to come up. These issues are never resolved due to lack of funds. On a daily basis we are pushed to fix these issues despite them not being resolvable. Meanwhile, internal software is very outdated and management fails to migrate to new software, makes our job even harder.

    Advice to Management

Software should be updated and department needs more funds. Management is not terrible but needs to push for change, majority of the time nothing is working right and nothing is being done on high levels of management. Fix your issues and stop telling your employees to fix them for you, especially when next to nothing can be done.

I worked at Ramapo College of New Jersey part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved that I could work in the field that I was going to school for simultaneously. It was an excellent experience and a great source of income while in school. My employers were always advocates of school coming first but it gave me experience that I needed to deal with clients and an adult work environment. I had a hand in hiring my successor as well, which was awesome. I was even allowed to work over the summer! I LOVED everything about working here.

    Cons

I think the only downfall (and I can't really even say downfall really) was that students are capped at 20 hours a week because they are part time.

    Advice to Management

Loved the benefits, loved the hours (I could choose when to come and leave and what days). I loved the freedom of knowing school work came first.
