    I worked at Rambus full-time

    Pros

Great people, highly trained, fair pay, good benefits, and interesting and challenging work.

    Cons

Lack of direction and focus from the top with too many diverse agendas for the number of teams and correlated people on the teams to be able to obtain leadership in each of their respective disciplines.

    Advice to Management

Develop a cohesive vision that leverages each of the respective teams in a more symbiotic way. For example, develop an single identity for Rambus (rather than four identities) that investors, employees, and most importantly customers will get excited about.

I worked at Rambus full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work time, good benefits, great work with good learning curve. Good infrastructure as Nice facility team. Lot of talented people.

    Cons

Some of the Managers are arrogant and they never listened to any employee ideas related work and some of the managers not qualified for the position and they don't know how to handle team issues as they never tried to solve team issues, instead of solving problem they created more problem in the team as Helpless manager. If it is comes to performance then crying baby gets milk irrespective of your last year contribution. Hectic work and managers expected to do night out for no reason. Mangers can't difference smooth execution of the design versus bad quality design with lot of goof up as some one does more night outs to complete project then he gets good reward.

    Advice to Management

No clear road map and keep changing plans at every quarter which leads big confusion till hands on level employee.

    I worked at Rambus full-time

    Pros

    Beer fridge
    Coffee Machine
Pool table and ping pong table

    Cons

They have no focus or direction. They have their fingers poked into every possible technology in the world. They make risky bets on fantasy projects that are a big waste of time.

They have a steady stream of income. But then they take this income they got from suing the memory industry and invest in fantasies and tangents instead of having a focus and core technology. Quantum computing project with Microsoft? They are just all over the map in what they decide to spend time on and invest in.

Everyone hates Rambus because they have sued people to death all over the semiconductor industry. Customers are always nervous to engage due to that and some refuse to meet.

That Sunnyvale location has to be the worst in the bay area. Getting in and out is a complete misery with all the gridlock, google buses, and the congestion of Mathilda. There are no lunch options within walking distance.

    Advice to Management

You say the investment community is confused about your story but shouldn't be. What you really should do is listen to what they are telling you. Your story is very confusing because you have no focus or strategy. You are all over the map. You have invested in lighting fixtures for crying out loud. How much does your lensless smart sensor make? You flush millions down the toilet constantly. Microsoft quantum computing? Is that going to be a successful commercial market soon?

You are completely lost as a management team. You have this big impression of yourself as the best and brightest but you are really just a patent troll at heart. Sucking blood like a leech off of the semi industry leaders. None of your narcissistic swagger turns into successful and industry leading commercial businesses.
